I remember when this was a fun rivalry...I miss the Atlantic Division
That said, this is going to be fun. Peter Delmas is back in town, with (hopefully) his game back in order. Former coach here left his brain as scrambled eggs, and then he felt the pressure of playing for P. Roy. It's nice to see him doing well these last couple of weeks with the Mooseheads.
In the story on John Moore's blog today, I see Delmas saying he got booed here when he came back with Quebec. The truth is, he got an ovation when he was introduced, many polite claps and several standing and applauding. Of course, he was yanked, so that might have soured his memory of the whole night, I guess.
As for Clarke, well, if you all can deal with his antics, then you have yourself a great player. But to claim that he wasn't being played properly, as a 16-year-old...what right does he have? Clarke was given a sweet education package to come to Lewiston in the first place, and he never went to classes...
He's a great talent who will need to fix his mental outlook of he plans on going anywhere. Maybe he will, and I wish nothing but the best for him. But right now, he's more hurt than help, IMO.
As for the rest of the matchup, Lewiston is flying right now. A win and a should-have-won against RN last weekend were the latest in a fun, fast-paced few weeks with this new coaching staff, and a new style and pace of play.
The young kids are an extremely talented group. Don't let the fact that the team has just one 20-year-old skater and one 19-year-old skater fool you.
From the Mooseheads' end, your team will go in this game as far as Peter Delmas can take you. He's capable, we saw it here in Lewiston for two-plus years. It stinks that I haven't seen anything at all about Halifax otherwise to have an opinion on what you all have for offence or defence...I'll try to come back postgame with thoughts on the game...
