I'm not sure if the key to the weekend is whether or not Roy holds up. Roy's been quite good ever since the WJC camp in December, aside from a little blip on the radar this past weekend. The key, as it's been all year, is simply whether or not the Eagles show up. Which has been about a 50/50 chance since September. Edit: Speaking of Horyl, it just keeps on dragging on and on forever as to when he's coming back. There are always rays of optimism popping up here and there that he'll be back soon, but the feeling in your gut remains that he'll be out for a while. I think the kid is one of our gutsiest and most consistent performers, and has been just a fantastic addition to our team since we so wisely picked him up from Lewiston, and I wish him the best in a full recovery from whatever this ailment is. But does anyone else find this situation reminds them too much of Robert Slaney's injury last year, and Steve Dixon's season-ending hernia in 2005? Both of those losses absolutely crippled their respective teams, I might add.

It;s a Concussion ! A pretty bad one from what they say, severe headaches that apparently have lead to many sleepless nights . Hockey is a distant second to Stephen and his family right now.

The guy has been out since December. Plus I would rather him sit out and fully recover than come back and get re-injured. Because everyone knows its all about being ready for the playoffs

Some Points on Tonight's Game
- I thought Roy had to play well and he answered the call .
- Legault played well and makes you pay for everything .
- 5 on 3 Kill was the key I think and Taylor MacDougall shined on the PK .
- Too much Roy and Legace .....forcing passes and absolutly missing Hertzberg leaving the zone on more than several occassions .
- Brodeur's laser from the point will be missed Tommorow as he has to go home on a personal matter .
- Horyl may be finally ready to start skating again ..........for my money he's the guy who puts the PP in gear .
- Very nice crowd for a Saturday Night Game and besides being happy with the win , they recognized the effort and appreciated it ............."Ding ....Ding"...............Round 2 Tommorow at 4 pm !

Good effort from the guys tonight.
I was impressed with the play of Legault it was his best game as an Eagle so far. I also like the line of Dion-MacDougall-Legault they were creating havoc all night and were great in their own end.
I thought that Adam's line looked better as the game went on. They had a few very good chances but couldn't burry it. Luke's first goal was nice to see because that line worked pretty hard that shift and it was nice to see it pay off.
I was also impressed at how our defence were pinching in and forcing turnovers when Victo tried to come up the wall on the break out. It worked well a couple of times and if I recall correctly that's what kept the play alive when Dion scored a beauty.
Interesting how they come out tomorrow.

Agree with Topgun, the MacDougall line was impressive last night. They were hitting everything in sight especially Legault (man he hits hard). Good to see Adam's line get some points, they were getting lots of chances just unlucky at times.
I think they need Nick at centre maybe put Horyl on the right side with him when he comes back. Nick looked huge out there with Cuzner & Bourgeois on his wings.
Roy & Poulin were both solid, Poulin kept Victo in it. Did Victo's second goal hit someone in front, I couldn't tell from the other end but it seemed like it took a weird bounce?
Overall best effort I seen in a while. Lots of hitting and they were hard on the puck all night. Hopefully Sunday will be the same, we might see our lack of depth on D with Brodeur out.

After the games last weekend and so many times before this season, last night's effort and result was a very pleasant surprise against a very strong Victoriaville team.
Today will be a huge test to repeat that type of effort, especially if we are missing Brodeur! Like dt281 pointed out, this contest will highlight a huge concern of many posters, our lack of depth on D, in a "Go for it" run!
Who will be asked to step up today and who will actually step up their play on D?

Who will be asked to step up today and who will actually step up their play on D? I think Kalin Paul could really step his game up this afternoon. I was impressed with his physical game last night he didn't try to do too much just played a steady game. Anyone else find that Bergeron and Shaw looked a little bit too slow for the pace of the game last night. I wonder if Nick Parker will draw in today. From what I hear he has some nice wheels.

the game could have gone either way at one point, however the eagles had heart last night and worked for thier goals.........leagault scares people and i think he adds a few pounds to the others..........victo looked a bit off at times but not on faceoffs..............if the eagles pound them today it could be a turning point......this is like a playoff game with back to back...........after all the dismall efforts we deserve a couple of back to back good games ;D

Never would have thought we would take both games. Maybe we finally turned the corner & are going to play with a solid effort from here on. The D must have stepped up with out Brodeur in the line up. How did Parker look?

How did Parker look? The kid sure can skate , kinda small though but then again look how effective Cuzner is and he is as big as him ............time will tell if he is as physical but he has wheels .

true - didn't see us taking both, but then again, it could be compared to when we smoked Drum here then lost at Drum (although we don't have that chance now, and we did beat Vic 3x this year) as Vic were at the end of a 4 in 5. HOWEVER, we have lost against worst teams in worst situations so definitely have to give credit for the big 4 points.
From the radio broadcast seems Mario was fuming at Adam, but Adam seemed to have made up for it with the hat trick today. It doesn't seem Lagace has got his goal scoring stride that we traded for as he only has 1 in 9 games (although he does have 8 pts).
Anyways, way to go!
