well unless Amyot is back tommorrow, I don't see a repeat of clarke being benched. Have to wait and see I guess. If Gillard is able to go, maybe, but even then, its unlikely. Cam did look pretty pissed though after the game, so we will see.

Copy and paste from my response on the Eagle's board: Sauve doesn't need a shovel for all the bull**** that he spews in that article, he needs a backhoe. The hits on Peterson and Macaulay were both clean steamrolling type of hits. Clarke drew a penalty after the Peterson hit because Sauve was undisciplined. In the 2nd, Sauve blindsided Clarke at center ice during a stoppage and got away with not getting a penalty. Despres asked Clarke to fight right in front of me after the Macaulay hit but just let Clarke go.

Enjoy watching your team be eliminated in the first round once again, lol. We suck everybody knows that, we aren't making the playoffs, everybody knows that, but I am going to love watching you poor CB fans cry and sook over being eliminated. You guys might have a great record against us over the last year or so, but where has that gotten you. I wouldn't brag too much about coming back from a 3-0 deficit against us. You guys have struggled against us lately and with bonehead behind your bench good luck against Flynn and Moncton. Have fun having no 1st rounder for the next few years, for a player that will do shit all against Moncton. Believe me when I say, we here in Halifax know how that feels. As far as your record against us, lets talk about that when we are not rebuilding. I think I recall a few years ago us sweeping you guys right out of the playoffs and all the CB fans saying how we should have because you guys were lucky to be there blah, blah. And if Clarke played for you guys, you would love him. These are the same fans that loved Morency all those years, surely one of the classiest and cleanest players in the league at the time. lol, what a joke. Yeah, that Morency was the epitome of class when he played in the league wasn't he? Almost as much as that Hunter Lahache guy.

Exactly Moosefan, everybody sees their players with rose-colored glasses on. I am not going to sit here and say Clarke isn't an ass sometimes. I have lost count how many times I look at my brother during the game and say, wow he gotta away with that, lol. But it really gets to me when other fans bad mouth the guy and call him dirty and a snake when their team has players or has had players in the past who were just as bad or worse. Morency was and still is a joke in hockey.
As far as the article, those hits were clean and the dogs did nothing about it. Sauve is cheap, always has been, but nobody wants to admit it in SJ because it was against clarke. Clarke may flop, but twice he goated them into penalties. I can handle that.

If the dogs want to waste their time chasing him around in SJ next game then that's great for them, but bottomline (regardless of what you think of Clarke) is that those hits were clean and Clarke did nothing wrong but play physical.

Bobby is the owner, Cam owns both the Coach and GM job and Clarke is only 17 and obviously makes enough of an impact that he's news in our opponents city paper. Doesn't appear any of them are going anywhere.

That right there tells me all I needed to know to base my opinion. I will be the first to admit both Smith and Russell had me scratching my head at times but look at what has transpired this season. First Smith has come out and admitted some mistakes he made. Whether you like him or not for someone to admit that takes balls. He could have flat out blamed Patenaude and no one would have batted an eye. Second he made a commitment to move forward with youth and stick to the plan. Russell still has stuff to learn behind the bench but he knows more than I would guess 99% of us armchairs GM/coaches here. The players bust their asses off for him every night so he is doing something right. Let's see if this group progresses next year before we pass judgment on his abilities. As for Clarke, yeah he can be dirty at times but it is a fine line that he plays. Not that I condone the dirty plays, nor saying he is dirty all the time, but I am pretty sure every player has done something cheap/dirty during their playing days. Every player is human and can get frustrated or pissed off and react. As has already been mentioned any team that cheered for Morencey should keep quiet when it comes to bs on the ice. That was a disgrace to the game no matter what way you look at it, and please save his off ice contributions if you try to defend him. Bottom line for this season is the kids played hard almost every game and to me I couldn't ask for more. I had more fun at the rink this year than that last team we had that was supposed to go for it all.

It must drive some of you absolutely foolish that Pascal Morency actually played professional hockey seeing as a great deal of Moose fans still see him as an anti-christ. God I miss those days.

No it didn't bother me at all. I just find it comical that a fan base that cheered his play criticizes any other teams players who aren't holier than thou.
