I do not believe that the Drakkar might end up taking that risk like VD did with Louis Leblanc. Can a 16 YO be traded in his first year? I do not believe either that Smith would agree to trade up for Matheson or offer him a scolarship package as he said before that he wanted to get away from these since Patenaude's departure. So you already forget LAST year's draft..... Milson did not get any favour from the Titan.

The kid playing in the league is for the better of the league.....regardless of where he ends up. You spew this same garbage every year at this time in regards to these kids. The kid playing dou[ble play learns early that lying is for his good, that bluffing can be advantageous, etc.... I prefer a straight face to a hypocrit. Man what planet do you live on? Here on earth, bluffing and coming out a winner is considered a good thing. I'd rather be a hypocrit with a free education then have a straight face and have to pay through the nose to get that same education.

I get the thing where some would like to have players sign cards or whatever to ensure their intentions but I just don't see it happening anytime soon because some players WILL go to NCAA if they don't get drafted by a team that is willing to give them what they are looking for and a lot of time it's a better education. Will they, though? Has any team ever called a player's bluff? I know VD took Louis Leblanc and he went NCAA, but since you can't prove a negative (Leblanc has never said "I would have gone to the Q if Quebec drafted me", and the other big money teams Hal, Mon, Rim, SJ all had a pick before VD and didn't take him), we don't know if he would have come to the Q if the right team drafted him. I think any player that was ever really bluffing, has eventually come to the Q. Maybe he was drafted by the right team, or maybe he was traded to them, but he eventually ended up in the league.

According to Willy Palov's Twitter, No. 1 rated QMJHL draft prospect Michael Matheson has elected to go the NCAA route. Is he playing the "NCAA" Card or is he serious about playing USHL next year? . . . and Wuest is reporting on his Twitter that BC is taking Matheson regardless. That is just BC's position ... trying to get somebody to make them a big offer for 1st overall ... including Halifax.

So you already forget LAST year's draft..... Milson did not get any favour from the Titan. But he used the NCAA bluff to scare teams away. Your face isn't so straight.

So you already forget LAST year's draft..... Milson did not get any favour from the Titan. What about Patrick Jones...he told some teams directly, point blank that he didnt want to play in the Q. Lo and behold he was in the Q...and guess where he played??

They are trying to aggressively trade that pick because they know they would be able to perhaps get their guy at #2 #3 or #4 They want Ciampini.

Hey Lala....in your opinion, how risky is it for the Moose to take Matheson if BaC passes and takes Campiani? Do u think if we take him we have some sort of confirmation from him that he would play in Halifax. Don't want any more Cichy mistakes.

He would have to know it would be either BC or Halifax would take him... so the fact he even brought up the NCAA card would maybe suggest he may not go to BC. Or Halifax even, but its doubtful. Maybe the NCAA comments are only used to get the best deal possible from the team drafting him, and he fully intends to report. If he was ok with BC, and they pretty much told him they would be taking him, NCAA comments wouldnt have been made. Sounds like BC may be taking a big risk. Speaking of Louis Leblanc, Willy Palov on his Twitter is reporting that he may be leaving Harvard to fast track his hockey career, and could go to Hamilton or maybe to Chicoutimi.

I can almost guarantee you that if Halifax takes Matheson 2nd overall that he has given the Mooseheads a commitment. It is far too great a risk to potential piss away that 2nd overall pick. There is no way they are going to do that. Even if they get the feeling of some doubt in Matheson's mind, they wont take him. He is a great player, ive been saying that for the last while, but even then its 2nd overall...its not like you're risking a 3rd rd pick (Cichy).
