I figured I'd start a new thread for all draft related talk. The other various threads talked about the draft, but we're either getting too long or had too many different topics. timestranscript.canadaeast.com/sports/article/1075700Article in the Times and Transcript today. Nothing really new or exciting, but a good read none-the-less.

Baie-Comeau is taking him #1 So Matheson to the Moose? Ya, just how big is this NCAA thing? It seems to have picked up steam the last few weeks, more talk about it in the media at least. If it's a bluff, he's playing it well.

According to Willy Palov's Twitter, No. 1 rated QMJHL draft prospect Michael Matheson has elected to go the NCAA route.
Is he playing the "NCAA" Card or is he serious about playing USHL next year?

If Halifax picks him you will know he will be a Moose.

If Halifax picks him you will know he will be a Moose. No surprise there.....just another Maritimer taking the simplistic linguistic approach... Or....it could also be another one nitpicking the team he wants to play....not my type either way. I hope, for the better of the Q, that Matheson is sincere about his NCAA claim according to Palov, but I doubt it very much.

I am pretty sure Halifax would pick him without a verbal agreement from Matheson. This sounds like Matheson not wanting to play in Baie Comeau ;D

I'm sure you'd hate if he was bluffing and suddenly was drafted by your team too and reported although you can take the other stance because you know that's not gonna happen. I understand the issue don't get me wrong but it's not gonna change so might as well accept it for what it is and move on. I get the thing where some would like to have players sign cards or whatever to ensure their intentions but I just don't see it happening anytime soon because some players WILL go to NCAA if they don't get drafted by a team that is willing to give them what they are looking for and a lot of time it's a better education.

Jacob Brannon also commited to NCAA. He is ranked 18th so depending on other teams needs could be availiable with our first pick of the second round. Interesting....... thechronicleherald.ca/Sports/1185334.html

Cam seems like he wants to be busy at the draft, with some tough decisions. Is interesting he will not comment on Clarke. I was talking to an NHL scout a few weeks ago and when I asked him about Clarke I could tell he was interested. He said that if he could ever get his emotions under control he could be really good. I have also heard that there have been offers for him but other teams are trying to steal him. I would hate to have Saint John (or insert another team here) beat us in 2011/2012 with Corbeil leading them and Clarke quarterbacking the offense. Time will tell. thechronicleherald.ca/Sports/1185302.html

Interesting....... thechronicleherald.ca/Sports/1185334.htmlHow bout this comment from Brennan? "I thought about (major junior) compared to NCAA and I’ve decided to go NCAA," Brennan said. "I’d say there could be some teams that would be able to convince me but right now I’m not planning on that."
