Will it really be a year for proper development to take place when everything is getting fast-tracked for the 2012 bid? Well out of my whole ramble, i did forget to mention i don't think that is even a reality.. I am sure he will realize that when we lose the bid too and change his route. If they do not think it is reality then why are they still throwing resources at it? The money should be spent on the players on the ice, not on the old men off of it if they're going to cheap out on drafting.

you folks saying a 500 team.......................do you enjoy betting ? Yeah I don't see how our backend is anything but scary with what we have right now......Ellis is good, but not THAT good.

Hal, I hope you didn't take me the wrong way. I'd be betting confidently on the under 500, even though I said I hope they prove me wrong.
I've only read 1 post among all our negative posts that actually suggests the Eagles could be a 500 team.
I would consider this team making the playoffs a successful campaign. Then they could lose in the 1st round just like last year's "Go for broke" team.
I am trying to be positive about a very negative situation.

I tend to ask myself why i read these boards from time to time.. There is about 2 % positivity and 98 % negativity towards this team. I am not saying i agree with the decision making, or I actually like the way things have went because Id be lying.. But either way we are where we are, no matter how much you people cry and whine. However, I do believe the recent additions to the staff will help the team. I do think Mario will respect what these guys have to say and as deer said in another thread, maybe its experience from a long time ago, its still experience. Great experience. This year is about nothing more then getting experience and improving. Lots of speed, lots of youth, lots of jump, lots of grit, no pressure. You can log this, and rub it in my face when/if im wrong, but i see a .500 team . I just won't sit here and cry about how awful the staff is, i'm going to be positive and hope for the best! I think the fanbase on here calls it as it sees it, and reacts accordingly. The organization has on several occasions boasted having a "sophisticated fanbase" that "truly understands the game", and part of living up to that is the ability to call a spade a spade when necessary. I think that's more of a sign of fans that truly care about their team's well-being, than mindless pom-pom waving is. This board isn't always just a whine and bitch fest. If you read back in 2007-2008, when we had a gritty/no-quit team widely considered the Q's hardest-working, you would have seen that 98% of posts praised the players' efforts, the organization's direction, and expressed gratitude that we got to watch such a rewarding product night-in night-out at C200. From 2005-2009, I have seen countless posts on this board where people quite simply expressed how much they appreciated how good we had it as Eagles fans... hard-working, honest teams year-in year-out. While I don't completely agree with your position, I do respect it - and you make some points that are hard to disagree with.

If you guys are serious about rebuilding Alex Powell would be a good player to stick around and learn. Last year he was one of the top defenseman in Yarmouths camp but came home to finish up high school and make a run at the Telus Cup.
He was the defensive defenseman on the best midget AAA team in Atlantic Canada. Has all the physical tools to be a player, size, mobility, he just needs some stronger coaching and gain the confidence to know he can play at that level.

I attended the rick this morning for our "Vet" and Rookie A practice,
Just some notes -JS Fournier left the ice about 10min in limping and didnt return - Veronneau looked a little rusty but at other times looked very sharp - Lacerte looks like a guy that can Steal the #1 job if given the chance.
Notable standouts in the rookie practise 4,14,17,19,20
9- Olivier Jodoin looked a little effortless, but I found had great hands 10- Vincent Plouffe- Hands down the Best person on this ice, kinda looked like a man batteling against boys, This guy has a roster spot to loose.
7- unsure who he was ( White jersey about 6'2 Defence ) was hands down the chippyest guy on the ice,
If anyone was there an able to identlfy 14,19 would be appriciated, As they seemed to have the edge on the others as well.
I didnt get to attend Group A in which Kyle Farrell was in. Goalie in Group B ( white gear wasnt to shabby )
Mullet man was looking from the Press Box watching Kevin and Blair run the show, Kevin more the less ran the Vet practise and Blair looked more in charge of the rooks
these are just my opinions folks Id love to hear if anyone else was there to discuss.

That's several accounts now that have said Vincent Plouffe is impressive so far. Looking forward to seeing him when I duck down to the scrimmage tonight.

Forgot to touch on Jake Guindon, Good Size, Really skinny legs and arms, Potential speed from what I seen, After JS went down he seen more of the Defencsive portion of the practise and looked not to shabby on D, kinda looked like a JC Sawyer on the Ice. This guy has Potential to be a Band aid type of player to fill the a couple holes Also Lines for the Vets included Hertz-MacD-Horyl (Black) Dion-Cuzner-Shaw(Grey) -Parker-MacIntosh (Blue) Wasnt to sure who matched beside Cory and Nick, Invites maybe, Cory looked determined as well, I hope he can crack the line up, Also I did not see Berg out there, Injury maybe?

He is listed at about 6'2 could be him, as the Western kids are know to be chippy players

D Troy Mrazek has been added to camp was this maybe to the JSF injury? Nothing to do with the injury. The kid deserves a shot he was captain at Appelby's prep school last season in Ontario and a his a pretty good defencemen from what I've heard.
