Good article on Clarke... thechronicleherald.ca/Sports/1197932.htmlLove what I hear, that he recognized he had to change, and he worked on being more mentally ready. Hopefully this can keep up as the season moves along. Its very hard though with a guy who plays his game. At times, he WILL take bad penalties, its almost inevitable. Sometimes, as we saw last year, he will get called for things at bad times that perhaps he doesnt deserve, but his reputation hurt him. I love the all around talent he has and that he plays with an edge and can get other players completely off their game and pre-occupied with him at times. He has a choice right now to be able to play hockey for a good living... maybe a VERY good living. Does he want to dick around and be a troublesome teen and maybe look back in 5 years time and wonder what could have been (I knew a guy like this, who had the scouts drooling but decided hockey came 2nd to partying and hanging out, and he definately had regrets years later looking back at how close he was to a pro-career).... or does he want to focus on playing as an impact player this season and see his name called at the NHL draft to get a chance at a lifestyle we all envy. He could have a big season this year.

Via Willy Palov's twitter he seems to think the Mooseheads should go with 8 defencemen and keeping Desmarais as part of the 8 man group.
I can't see that as it doesnt follow what was established last year- unless Desmarais has an incredible camp I think it would be best for him to go back to midget and play big time minutes and develop his offensive game getting some PP time. The Mooseheads could keep 7 defencemen once everyone is back from NHL camps and also have Kavanaugh and Desmond available as affiliate players.

I cant see that happening...I think Halifax goes with 8 dmen but id rather they keep Desmond or Kavanagh around as the #8 and let Desmarais go and play 25 minutes per game with a good Midget AAA team.

I wasnt at CHP Thursday or Friday so I cant say much about Desmond or Kavanaugh other than Kavanaugh had a nice goal on Wednesday night. How have they been playing since?

I didnt go THU or FRI either but ive watched those two a crapload over the last 2 years... Im not sure how they are playing but I dont think either has long term Q upside, but as a #8 or local AP they would be fine.

Exactly... Desmarais doesn't make sense to be the 8th D. Send him down and let him play. The 8th D likely won't get a favorable rotation with 7 experienced guys and will be there mainly to let guys rest/injuries when needed. They'll be working hard enough trying to get the #6-7 lots of games. A note on the D... they seems to have 5D and 13F dressed tonight. Unless it's a Qsite lineup mixup... kind of interesting.

Well with Corbeil not going before the deadline it looks pretty evident to me that our overagers will be Amyot, Grant and Berty which I assumed all along. Kind of bummed they didn't deal one of the two tenders this morning.

Can you keep 4 20's as long as only 3 are dressed? For example if Delmas starts in goal then Bety is in the pressbox for that game.
