Good to see they released Dimitruk early and didnt drag it on. hes got enough skill to play in this league as a 20 year old. Hope he signs on somewheres. Costello was a disapointment this camp anyways. should have been cut in the first lot. Belanger play decent but at 19 his age was an issue. I felt Cody played some good hockey. an in your face type of player with good speed but with the forward class of this years camp he was in tough.

I am guessing there is a reason that Amyot got the nod as the 3rd 20, I just don't know what it is. Based on 3 intrasquad games and 1 exhibition game, he doesn't deserve it. I was not impressed with his play at all, and just wonder what he brings to the table as a 20 on D. IMO, if the D are Alberthauser, Hannay, Gillard, Clarke, Lewis, Amyot, Bishop, he would be battling to be considered top 4. We don't need his leadership, he doesn't bring any toughness to the D, he would be no better than the 3rd most skilled D, not much better in his own end than any other D, and showed a penchant last year, and so far this year for coughing up the puck. Again, based on what I have seen so far, and last year.

In the 2nd half last year he played great, and I'm sure they are hoping for that to continue through the first half of this year, then trade him at Xmas to make more room for the younger guys.

'Great' might be a little strong. If they indeed do what you suggest, then great. From my perspective your 20 needs to bring alot more than the players younger than him, in some aspect of his game. He has a pretty good slapshot, but Gillard and Clarke are my 1st PP pairing. He is big but doesn't use his size at all, Clarke, Hannay, and now Lewis play way tougher. He has not shown any kind of willingness to step up and defend teammates, so leadership is a bit of a question. If you have been following him at games last year and this, you would understand that his fumbling with the puck is nothing new. At the start of last year he was pegged as an anchor on D, and in my mind was outplayed by Dimitruk, and through the year was surpassed by youngsters. Maybe he is a great dressing room guy.

I guess they would be down to 31 now, when I went to CHP this morning I saw Wigginton leaving with his hockey bag prior to practise also the talk around the rink has Dimitruk going to Dalhousie University and Squires joining the Dartmouth Mauraders Junior "A" and I think that they have the rights to Wigginton as well.

According Wuest, Wigginton was placed on waivers today. Down to 31, without Frk EDIT: Also according to Wuest, Dimitruk is not going to Dal.

i have to agree with what Melly is saying about Amyot. Hes looked to be one of our worst defencemen that is still around. Desmarais has played his way onto this team. i do agree with keeping him around though because we will be able to get something for him via trade a little into the season and bring Desmarais along slowly. good to hear Dimitruk is headed to Dal. hes a good defencemen and a great person.

the talk around the rink has Dimitruk going to Dalhousie University Not according to Wuest's Twitter: "Just received an email asking if former Mooseheads defenceman Paul Dimitruk is heading to Dalhousie. The short answer is no, he is not." twitter.com/metroqfiles

Amyot was one of the better players, and more experienced ones, last year. He is always capable of chipping in offensively, seemed to take more chances at the end of last year too. You put an enormous amount of weight into a few team intersquad games lol.

Just looking at whats better for the future of our club. we will get something for the future for Amyot via a trade. the only way these kids we have on D that have our played Amyot so far are going to get better is by playing. with gillard, Abelthauser, clarke, hannay being able to log alot of minutes, getting these younger guys like lewis, desmarais bishop ice is key

He wasn't traded last year, because he assured the Moose he would be back this year. There was a thought that he was going to forego on his 20 YO season and concentrate solely on school. Considering that, Amyot's spot is pretty much a lock and he won't be traded because he wouldn't report. As I said, anything can happen, but if I'm a betting man...he's not being moved.

not like there's a huge trade market for 20's... if Amyot is not in your top 4... why would you think you'd get anything for him from someone else?
