Dimi is going to Dal, for school only. Dal coach wasn't interested in picking him up.

i have to agree with what Melly is saying about Amyot. Hes looked to be one of our worst defencemen that is still around. Desmarais has played his way onto this team. i do agree with keeping him around though because we will be able to get something for him via trade a little into the season and bring Desmarais along slowly. good to hear Dimitruk is headed to Dal. hes a good defencemen and a great person. Amyot was one of the better players, and more experienced ones, last year. He is always capable of chipping in offensively, seemed to take more chances at the end of last year too. You put an enormous amount of weight into a few team intersquad games lol. Have you seen him during the 3 intrasquad games and exhibition games? He has looked shaky, and IMO, as a 20, he needs to look sharper. He really hasn't looked any better than any other D, all younger. Last year Cam used all his young defensemen, in any situations, and they gained valuable experience. Therefore, I feel they have narrowed the gap between themselves and a so-called experienced Amyot. What do you feel he brings as a 20, other than the fact he is 20? I don't mean to be sarcastic, but a 20 needs to serve a particular purpose or play a particular role.

Grant hasn't looked awesome in camp but I don't think them keeping Warner over Grant is a great idea.

Ok so Ryan should be picked over Grant? Why is Grant going to be on the team? Because he's an important part of it, a leader and from what he did last year... same as Amyot.

Amyot was good last year on a team with a load of young inexperinced D. this year he looks weak with a group of D with more experince. if he sticks with this team all year its outta loyality from Cam not cause hes deserving 20 year old. Josh Desmond has looked better then him for christ sakes. Canbeer i agree with what your saying about grant. i wouldnt keep him either. To be honest with the age factor i would rather keep Ryan over Grant for the future of our club.

For me I don't think it would be good for the team and the young players to miss the playoffs for the 3rd year in a row. Also it would be good for them to have solid leader ship. Grant will be one of their top forwards, Amyot will be one of their top D, they will make the team a lot better and both are good leaders... that's why both will be on the team. Desmond may work as the 8th D.

Who says we don't need him? Reading through this thread I'm not the only one rooting for him to make the team.

Grant hasn't looked awesome in camp but I don't think them keeping Warner over Grant is a great idea. There is a big difference between a veteran cruising through camp, and one whose play looks shaky. Grant has not shone in camp, but he has been steady and hasn't been making a pile of errors. Amyot coughed the puck up, through the middle in his own zone, multilpe times in every intrasquad game. Actually 3 times in the 1st period of the 2nd intrasquad game. If a D is pressured and has limited options, he simply dumps it high off the boards. He looked average at best against SJ, and was fumbling with the puck, over and above, the bad ice.

Do you guys really think he has completely forgotten how to play hockey at this level based on his rusty play at camp? He logged alot of minutes last year and brings some offense also. He is perfectly capable of playing key roles for this team, as he did all last year. He`s not suddenly going to be a bad player, he will be one of our go to guys in key situations - again.
