Mario said in the paper he expects to make two cuts in the coming days. One would assume one would be at forward, and one would be on defense to give us 14 forwards and 8 D.
Up front, is it possible that either William Carrier or Farrell could be heading to midget? I don't think he could cut any of the other young Quebec players (CEGEP rule) and I don't see MacIntosh being cut. I did hear a rumour about Farrell being returned to the Tradesmen but I don't know how valid that is. Carrier & Farrell were among the better rookies in camp despite their age, IMO, so I'd be disappointed to see either go down to MAAA.
On the blueline, Ellis/Woodworth/Hrabrenka are obviously safe. Fournier would be a longshot to be cut since he provides an older presence, although he didn't play that much last year. I think they want to keep some youth around so Engert will likely be kept, and they've more or less said many times Leduc will be kept.
I'd guess the last spot on the blueline would come down to Larade vs. Herrett.

He spoke after the Q Draft about Farrell being a player who could possibly play 5 years . Now anything is possible with this guy but I see Farrell staying . Now that you reminded us about the CGEP Rule , would you not think MacIntosh might be in tough ?

If I were to cut a vet forward it would be Bergeron. The kid has not improved a bit imo. On defence I would have to go with Larade, I would much rather keep Leduc around to gain experience.

Larade and Bergeron would be my picks. Who knows with Mario though.

I should be GM.
But seriously, no shock there.
By my calculations, we are left with 8 defencemen. Who will be the 2 odd men out most nights, I'm wondering.

Will rotate Leduc, Herret and Engert most likely....
What forward has been cut?

Will rotate Leduc, Herret and Engert most likely.... What forward has been cut? The forward will be cut tomorrow. Honestly Engert is too slow to play at this level imo. Even though Leduc's skating style looks weird he can still move around the ice, I have no problem playing Herret and Leduc over Engert.

I thought Larade played decent yesterday. I mean there wasn't alot of positives coming out of the back end yesterday. But he made a few good plays. I thought he played better than Herret.

So everyone thinks it's between Farrell and Bergeron going to gone? IMO i think Farrell who be better of in Jr.A for a year a setup from Midget and a step below Q and it would be better of his development. He is only 5'6 and at the most 160 lbs? What's the rush to get him to play this year and a team that's gonna struggle?

There's no rush, but you can also ask yourself that as a coach and GM who do you want grooming your top forward prospect.....a Jr A team or yourself and your own coaches, trainers, etc. It's not as simple as throwing the kid into whatever league he'll play the most in....there's physical development and other things that can come a long way during a year here as a spare forward getting into 25-30 games.

Pretty short press release on the Eagles' website about one of Mario's "cs"s or "bb's".
Sydney – Screaming Eagles General Manager and Head Coach Mario Durocher announced today that defenseman Derek Larade (03-27-1992) has been released.
Larade played 7 games with the Screaming Eagles last season.

So which was he a BB or a CS ? Isn;t Bergeron covered by the CGEP Rule ? Can someone explain what this CGEP rule is really about ? I know it is tied to the school system but not much beyond that !
