Not a bad lineup for a rebuilding team... How was Lacerte so far? Stood on his head in a preseason game @ Halifax, stopping 30/31 shots and going 3/3 in the shootout. Also faced a lot of shots in the half-game he played against PEI in his other exhibition action. I also noticed he faced 40+ shots in most of the playoff games he played for the Titan last year against Quebec. It seems to me he might be a goalie who plays better when he is busier. Did you find this true last season?

I can see this being a year where the goaltending is split.
Lacerte will start half, Veronneau will start half.

Did you find this true last season? Getting deeper in the season after Christmas, Lacerte took over Nadeau's job and was playing in the last games and our one playoff series.... I think that he is better than Nadeau and has the potential to be a good competition for Veronneau.....he is a safety valve for Durocher in case Veronneau is not ready yet. Good kid to have around also.

This was the point of brining him in so we wouldnt have to place all our eggs in the Veronneau basket, And from the times I seen him in training camp Im glad we got this guy, as Veronneau could use this full year as a back up playing in less than half the games competing for that number 1 job because right now I dont believe he is ready, Best move Mario made in 2years.... beside brining in Legace of course

I agree that Veronneau is not ready to be a number one yet. Now granted he does not have a wealth of experience in front of him like our past great goalies had. I also think that this is probably one if not the best move Mario has made thus far.

But other than that, he's looked solid when I've seen him. One rough exhibition game is maybe a little premature to say a kid's not ready for the #1 role?

If only he could stay healthy, which sadly might be wishful thinking, I believe Horyl would have 35 goal potential this year as an overager.

Have you heard anything through the grapevine as to his injury status? Did he leave last game with a shoulder or was it his head again?

I think more the less hope this was a precautionary and holefully the 10 days before the season starts will give him some healing time if this is serious.
Giving it being the preseason I cant see there being much word on this until we check to see if hes on the opening night roster.

Have you heard anything through the grapevine as to his injury status? Did he leave last game with a shoulder or was it his head again? That was probably just precautionary. He didn't look at all woozy leaving the ice. If I'm not mistaken, the hit didn't actually connect with his head....... but he did get caught with his head down, and it probably just scared him and the team more than anything. Smart move to take him out in a meaningless exhibition game.
