I agree with Deer, he did not remotely look close last year to being pro ready. Maybe things have changed in the off season who knows. I hope he doesn't come back. Unless the Eagles trade him and get some assets. What do people think we could get for him if he is indeed returned to the Q? He did score 30 in 35 games with Chicoutimi before the trade. That would show he is ready for the pro game, though he never fit in in CB for whatever reason. Again I agree with Deer. Carey it is not only stats that matter in the game of hockey. 30 in 35 is awesome and I think Jacob will be in the NHL someday but seeing him for the last half of the season last year I stand by my statement he is not ready. As mentioned already most nights he looked lost out there. He did not play in traffic. He was not a physical player. (I know that is not his style but still he needed to do something out there)I also said maybe things changed in the off season. Who knows maybe he is ready now but I am basing my opinion strictly on last years time spent with the Eagles.

A lot of people have suggested Rimouski acquire Delmas. It seems to make sense, as long as he's recovered well enough from that hip injury that's badly hampered his past two seasons........ seeing him fall from high-end pro prospect and 2nd round NHL draft pick, to nearly forgotten-about guy in his 5th year in the Q. If healthy, I think the guy is one of the better goalies in the league - he was really good at 16 and 17 for Lewiston, and finally started playing well again down the stretch last year for Halifax. I'm not sure if it was just health that played a role in his 1.5-year slide or if attitude played a part too..... but if it was just health, he could re-establish himself as one of the league's best this year should his hip be OK. As for Halifax, I don't see why they would need two arguably #1 goalies after Xmas in a non-contending year..... seems the obvious move would be to trade one. If Delmas is one of the only proven veteran guys on the market, they could get a decent price for him. I see them more likely to trade him than MCT, #1 because trading him opens a 20 spot, #2 because MCT seems to be their home-grown pet project, while Delmas was acquired through trade. I'm not sold on MCT, but they've had him from when he was 16 until he was NHL drafted and probably want to stay the course. Moosehead's hands are tied. They have to trade Delmas. They can't trade MCT until Xmas trading period, and they have Torrenzio (sp?) that will be developed in the backup role. So Delmas is the only player that can be traded now. Delmas is far better than MCT, but not much you can do. Also even if MCT continues his inconsistent play, it's not like the Moose are going to contend anyway...so the silver lining is the young kid can get a lot of quality ice time to develop. ;D
