Drouin will benefit more from playing sparingly and practicing with NHL talent than coming back to junior being disintertested, coasting and potentially leading to off-ice issues. I don't know how many are familiar with how last year went when he was sent back, but multiply that by a thousand. Sending him back, Tampa runs the risk of having him turn into a bust more so than him not playing 20 minutes per game. Drouin has played a shit ton of hockey the past two years at the junior level. It's time to move on.
Even if it takes him two months to adapt and adjust, it's the better path.

Drouin coming back here would be a disaster. Perhaps if he's playing 11 minutes/game, there's a possibility Tampa would loan him to team Canada for the jrs. But I agree that Tampa is the best place for him at this point. Even though logically it would make sense, as a junior fan I'll never complain about not being able to send 19yo players to the AHL.

Drouin coming here wouldn't be a disaster, as he wouldn't even likely unpack his bags before being traded But yes, there is no way he comes back to junior. They are bringing him along slowly right now, but he still stood out to many even when he was playing a lot. Sticking in the NHL as a 3/4 liner is the best thing for him now, with the strong possibility he moves to a scoring role as the year moves on.

Yah, if he came back the Moose's best move would be to bench him and see if they can get an exception to trade him before Christmas.

Sending Drouin back may or may not be good. No one really knows and since it was required last year when the same things were said perhaps its required again. He would not be the first 19yr old that had to suck it up and learn to be a man.

Interesting article. If whoever wrote that was GM of TB then would be definitely see Drouin back here. Unfortunately, I think he would lose his mind if he got sent back again. He has played in 7 games according to TB site. I guess we will know soon enough.

If and this is a big IF Drouin were sent back to the Q it wouldn't be until after the WJC and he would be traded to the Quebec Remparts most likely anyways as he would need a huge carrot to get him to come back to the Q.

If we're playing the hypothetical game, more than likely he would be sent down before he plays his 10th game for Tampa, as to not burn a contract year. And it's not like he'd hold out and not play for the Moose if he returned. All irrelevant. He isn't returning IMO.

Quebec haven't got enough. They would easily get outbid. They already used up most of their assets.

You simpletons need to give it up. He isn't coming back, as much as you want him to fail and be returned to the Mooseheads.

There is about as much chance of Mackinnon being sent back. Why don't we start a 12 page thread on that.

Actually most, if not everyone on here has said there's no chance of him returning. But speculation is a part of every board on here. Sometimes it's fun to speculate, even in situations like this one which have a 0.001% chance of happening.
