The trade for Deschamps while giving up on Bureau is a great trade. Very impressed. The rumoured trade for Auger -- not so much. 2 1sts for a 20 year old goalie seems ridiculous. I do not think this rumour should be easily dismissed however. We all know that they would probably grab a decent veteran even if they draft Fitzpatrick. Kid may have a bright future but I doubt he could carry the load as a 16 year old. Then again , we managed before. Paying 2 firsts for Auger doesn't make sense. It wouldn't even make sense if Auger had won the Q championship twice. The journalist who wrote about the rumour sending Auger to Quebec also said Brassard would head to Gatineau or Cape Breton. Brassard won't cost 2 firsts. It would make more sense for CB.

I think the price was atrocious. I mentioned that at the start. I just think that any rumour regarding goalies at this point for the club should not be hastily dismissed. Emerz's post clarified that a lot though that the rumour is unlikely to be true.
And as you say , Brassard will be in the best price range for the club.

Anthony Marcotte ?@anthonymarcotte 5 min Soit dit en passant, les Screaming Eagles du Cap-Breton seraient très intéressés par les services de François Brassard des Remparts.
Eagles are interested by François Brassard.

Looks like a consistent goalie who is always going to give you a chance to win, sounds good to me. He is a 20 though, isn't he? Guess that means one of Legare, Darcy, Farrell won't be back if we get him.

What if Quebec gives something extra to get Darcy? Quebec really needs quality overagers.
*that's wishful thinking and not an actual rumour

Really puzzles me why the Eagles are looking for a 20 year old goaltender unless he has inside information that both Hache and Darcy are not coming back. If Hache is the only one not returning, we have 3- 35 goal scorers coming back as 20 year olds. Do we let one of them go or trade one to get a 20 year old goalie, no sense to me. We need help in goal but I would prefer to get a 19 or 18 year old to grow with the team for the next couple of years.

Auger to Que through Cape Breton with Brassard coming our way? Could this be part of a series of moves? It is fun to speculate

I like him as a goaltender but I've never likes how he acts off the ice. I would like him to prove he can lead Quebec to victory but like I said, his comments were taken really badly by the coaching staff. FYI, he said after Quebec had lost in 5 against Rouyn that he had played great and that he was happy with how he played.

I see your FYI, but why would that punch his ticket out of town?
