Here's how I see the defence looking come opening night. Murphy / Hardie Lussier / Marino Ford / C. Fitzgerald Then you have Worthen and J. Fitzgerald sitting in the press box. OMG Fitzgerald looked awkward out there last night. I really do feel for young players, but it was like "Please God, don't let the puck come my way" every shift. I felt like I was on the ice LOL. Which Fitzgerald, I didn't see the lineup?

There's Josh Fitzgerald, who played against SJ last night. And there's Cavan Fitzgerald, who had a few games with the club last year and I'd assume will be dressed for the game against CB today.
I actually thought J. Fitzgerald played fine last night. Probably the most solid of the Ford/Taillefer/Nauss group.

With Josh Fitzgerald, it's his hockey sense and confidence that really impresses me. I think he could be one of the most reliable of the rookies left.

I liked J. Fitzgerald against SJ. I thought he played well, skated, moved the puck.
Jacques, Brais, Dempsey, Banville, Vokey, Tardif, Saunders all released this morning.

I was bored and forgot what teams were in what division in Quebec. After checking and finally seeing all the top team that can contend is in the East division. The winner of this division has a very strong chance of getting 2nd place for the playoffs. The West division is so weak because all the teams went all in last year and have very little left. Does this change anyone's out look of this season? I know the puck hasn't even dropped but a mass majority of people on here already want the trade period to come to dump players to start a rebuild. I'm one of them but if we some how are in the hunt of top of the division I can see CAm adding instead of subtracting.

A few new numbers on there this year. Should be an interesting season, especially on the blue line.

A few new numbers on there this year. Should be an interesting season, especially on the blue line. It could be frustrating at times for sure. But I have zero expectations. Would like to see which younger players can improve as the season goes along. See if Fucale can steal a few games for us (until Christmas... fingers crossed he's traded to start the rebuild). And perhaps see a few magical goals from Ehlers. Maybe see if we can steal a few games from Charlottetown and Cape Breton. Oh, and we have a 20 game unbeaten-in-regulation streak going against Bathurst.

I can see the team getting better as the season goes along, though if Fucale is dealt (I hope he is to start the rebuild), it'll cost in the standings, but if the kids grow, they'll be better for it in the long run. Hopefully, Resop is the goalie that they can build on making a Fucale trade easier to swallow.

I see the season being two distinct parts. Before xmas I think we'll be decent, maybe better then some expect. Ehlers will be near unstoppable, Gadoury is a great 2nd option, Fortier, even tho he's a rookie, will have an impact IMO, and Meier will be better. And then you have good two way guys, who are hard to play against in Falkenhem and Shewfelt. And there's always a guy or two who come out of nowhere. People are hard on him (always has to be a whipping boy around here) but I think Vince Watt will surprise some.
Defense is young and will have their moments, but great leadership with Murphy and Hardie. Fucale will win some games for us.
Then after xmas, after we hopefully move out some vets, it will be a struggle. But it won't have the same feel as back in the day. We already have some good players coming through the system, and we have a 1st and 2 2nds already in next years draft. We'll add to that through trades, so lots of assets going forward.

One concern that I do have going into this season, other than the rookies on defense, is that Jessie Lussier is our only right handed defenseman.
Dom has never been shy about playing a forward on defense, however our only real options for righys back there are Fortier, Falkenham and King. Maybe I'm thinking two much, but, Lussier will have to play massive minutes on the powerplay.
