As Hodge mentioned in today's T&T, Liam Murphy suffered a shoulder injury yesterday and will be re-evaludated to determine the extent. An extra forward may be needed to start the season depending on how long he's out for.

An extra forward may be needed to start the season depending on how long he's out for. So we could possibly be seeing all of Jacob, Cormier, Curtis and Tibbo sticking with the team to start the year. Hopefully Murphy's injury isn't serious and he's able to get back in the lineup sooner rather than later. Probably not the way everyone wanted him to start his Q career.

Just wondering about the next two exhibition games, I can understand the Bouctouche games and the Amherst games, but I wonder about the insight about playing two games on the Madeleine Island. I don't see anyone from the Madeleine Islands jumping on the boat for a 8 hour trip to see a Wildcat game in Moncton?

Sounds like 2-4 week injury anyways...

Well that would make sense that this is not something that the Cats planned. And you could not explain the though behind the that move from the Q.

Hodge said in the paper this morning that Mann is the least likely of the remaining D to make the team, while Tesink is the apparent frontrunner.
He also stated that Cormier is most likely to crack the lineup amongst the remaining forwards battling for the last 2-3 spots.
He goes on to mention that these two statements are his opinion only so take that for what it's worth.

An extra forward may be needed to start the season depending on how long he's out for. Only a minor shoulder injury. Out day-to-day. Will be ready for the home opener. Wouldn't want to start the season without our "star forward".

That's really good news, Murphy seems to have the tools to be very good in the Q, but he will need time to get adjusted to a much higher level of competition. Missing a month would have set him behind.

Does anyone know for sure how many players the team can carry? I'm hearing 23-man, 24-man and 25-man roster. Is there a deadline when the roster needs to be trimmed down? Trade deadline perhaps?

As per the Neil Hodge, the next signings are set to be Monday. I would assume, the team would be made then.

I believe Shannon was quoted as saying 15 F and 7-8 D. I assume they can use Doucet as #8 on defense and guys like Leger Corson Tibbo Jacob Murphy Cormier Curtis can rotate in and out if they make it. On defense the top 5 will play every night with #6-7 rotating.

Neil Hodge ?@ttneilhodge · 7m @monctonwildcats Moncton released forward Stephan Seeger, 18, today and sent him to Summerside junior A. 27 players now left in camp.
That's a bit surprising considering how well he played near the end of the season. Last 8 games he had 5 goals and 3 assists.

That is a little surprising to me as well although I haven't been able to make it to any of the pre-season practices or games so I don't know what he is stacked up against. From the remaining "bubble" players, in your opinion (or anyone else who wants to chime in) are those guys showing a lot more upside/potential. Secondly, releasing him still allows them to call him up I assume?
