I heard rumour regarding C Darcy : trade to Sherbrooke for a pick maybe a 4 th round pick ....well what's going on with Dumont ..... Légaré and Darcy was supposed to be two importants parts of the team this year ... and he trade both for only picks . Starting to become clearer that the longer Dumont is here the more he's exposed as someone who is simply average. Outside of the 2013 Euro draft where he ended up hitting the home runs with both picks he's really praised for Darcy, the Roy trade, and the Carrier trade. We all know Darcy had nowhere to go when he left school. The Roy trade fell into our lap thanks to a league rule which was changed. And i'd like to think any GM could have got that return for Carrier but keep in mind that Gauthier was expected to be a 2 1/2 year point per game forward and he also couldn't fit into our team and ended up being traded along with a 2nd for what looks like a #5 defenceman most nights. Dumont has a lot of work left to do to prove he's not an average GM. How many more veteran players have to see their value plummet to almost nothing before we look at a change? By my count the last season(2nd half last year+1st half this year) has been among the most disappointing ever on the ice when looking at the ending to last year and this entire season so far. The next trade period will be interesting to see what happens and where the team is headed. And also to see whether or not the fan base completes the 180 degree turn of the opinion on their GM.

I just do not see any of the Dumont deals above average, when compared to a number of other deals. Looking at the Roy trade, even without changes made, anyone should have been able to get that. Roy was a highly touted first overall. He had a good rookie campaign and is starting to turn it around. Regardless of ones opinion as to his refusal to come to Cape Breton, he is a big kid, with a bright hockey future. His trade value at 19 will no doubt be equal to what the Eagles received for him. Chicoutimi got basically an impact player for 3-4 years who will still have the ability to recoup his value. The Eagles did receive a very good hockey player in Leveille, but we should remember that Chicoutimi was, and may still be, touted to finish high in the standings this year making the 2015 pick a low end 1st. The Baie Comeau pick ended up being a 14th overall in 2014. The 5th overall they were getting because of the rules, and had nothing to do with trade value. He paid pretty high to move up in the 2013 draft, moving up 8 spots to 12th cost him a 1st (11th overall) in 2014. I know Hudon had higher trade value, but factoring things in he received fair value for Carrier, nothing more. That brings to the 20 year old trades. When comparing a 19 year old Hudon, who all knew would not play as a 20, BC paid I believe 3 1sts. Two years ago the Eagles traded a potent 20 year old scorer to Rimouski for a 3rd and a 9th. He finished the stretch for Rimouski, who were only rankled behind Halifax, averaging just under 2ppg. Now it appears the Eagles will trade Darcy for possibly the same or less. For all the crap that Darcy is receiving he was still getting about .67ppg in a slump. It would not surprise me, if he finishes the second half at about 1.5 ppg. Finally, apparently one of the rumours circulating is that he's poised to trade Dubois. Maybe it's past time to start looking at the coaching, not blaming the players.

Terrible sell-low move here. For a 4th rounder, they would have been better off riding it out to see if he turned it around. Eagles had sleeper potential. Basically traded Hinds straight up for Darcy. That is just ugly.
Sherbrooke however could be set up for a couple big pick ups. They have the assets to make an impact.

I agree. If he goes there and lights it up, we've GIVEN someone else a top 10 forward essentially for the price of less then the team paid to acquire the 20 we moved to keep him. Darcy for Hinds (essentially) has to go down as one of the worst moves in the last few years that the team has made. Slowly we are seeing all the good work undone through either his coaching or managing by Mr. Dumont.

Oh great, now everyone is going to shit on Dumont as a GM too What the hell did you expect CB to get for Darcy? I've read people say CB fans deserve a championship team but it's times like this when that statement is completely false.

Boy oh boy, the train wreck continues, between bringing in kids who don't want to be here to the kids that are here that don't like the coach, we are in tough shape. I for one would be severly disappointed and severely pissed off if he includes Dubois in any trade. As it stands now, we are out of a playoff spot and the only thing preventing us from falling to last place is Bathurst. Time for the higher ups to take a long hard look at what is happening here.Who knows, maybe there is a lineup of kids at Dumont's door as we speak wanting out of here, that is one of the stories I am hearing, and given the track record as of late, quite possibly true.

Except they already replaced him. Hinds doesn't replace Darcy, not the same caliber. Point was that they had to move Darcy after getting Hinds. Was no need to rush out and add Hinds. It was almost better to literally keep Darcy on the roster and just not play him then to do this.

I've read people say CB fans deserve a championship team but it's times like this when that statement is completely false. You realize the complaints are due to the fact that in September Darcy was worth something like a 1st and 3rd and 3 months later he was worth a 4th, right? You can try to stop bashing the entire fan base and try having normal discussions with posters you disagree with. Perhaps share some insight, some facts, some history which may back up your opinion. How do you think Dumont has done lately? Personally I don't think there's enough shit to dump on him for how far we've fallen.
