I think our safest bet with #4 is to pick Baribeau. At #5 Charlottetown could very likely pick him and then D'Orio isnt a good enough pick for #6. After next season CHA is left with Luke House who might not even be a starter in this league so Baribeau seems like the best pick for them at #5. So if we pick say Crete Belzile at #4 and Baribeau gets picked a 5 then I think Dumont we trade down to where Rouyn Noranda is picking at 8 and get D'Orio and maybe get say their 2nd in the deal. After #8 SJ is picking back to back and are more than certain to pick D'Orio. I agree if Cape Breton wants Baribeau taking him at #4 is a no brainer for me assuming none of these picks are traded of course. Given recent comments coming from Crete-Belzile I'm thinking CB will take a pass on him - Based on conversations I've had Jocktain Chainey is almost as good and has good solid size and might even project to be a better D anyway if CB is thinking of drafting a D that is. Normally I would agree on Saint John drafting a goaltender as it appears to be a need ... Outside of Mayer in the Import Draft though Saint John has never drafted a goaltender higher then I believe Round 3 (Karel St Laurent) of course that could change this year.

With the assets the Eagles have, maybe Dumont might trade up to No 2 and pick at 2 and 4, getting one of the top three forwards plus the goalie at 4. Wonder what it would take for Bathurst to move down to Number6.

Look at it the other way though. As a contender with 2 high picks does it make sense to trade down from say 4 to 10 and pick up a 2016 1st to use as trade bait? Could still grab a future #1 goaltender at 6. Having 2 1sts in 2016 as assets would get us in the talks for any top player available at Xmas. And we would still have picks 10 and 19 to use or trade.

Shane Bowers floated the idea of NCAA out there. Maybe he's not interesting in leaving Atlantic Canada (aka pick 2-3)

Ya that would be a logical move. Unless something drops, which you could wait until draft day to see, players available at 4 are not going to help in a run. The value of the picks at the draft could get you a 19 yr old cheaper than at Xmas. Depends on the market though which usually means when you see a good deal take it.

Juicy tidbit, noticed on the Sea Dogs blog that the CHL is re-considering granting exceptional status to Joseph Veleno. Sure would change the landscape of the draft if that happens.

It would be the best thing for you guys. Bowers could slip to number 4 and you guys get to pick him and your handed your 2nd line center. He might not be the number 2 guy right off the bat by the end of the year he should be more then capable to handle 2nd line duties.

On a contending team I don't think he'll be the kind of #2 Centre they'll be hoping for ... But he could certainly help them find one for sure. Regardless it's a win win for CB if Veleno does enter the draft ...

They don't do that they don't have Leblanc who helps nail down their top pairing. Gotta weigh good with bad here.
