He is in the draft of course its allowed. Halifax didn't re-select Echiel. I don't know if it's because they knew 100% he wasn't coming or there is a special rule tied to returning players to the draft for compensation. Sj took him first, probably too early for moose and for good reason, did not show.

Not at all surprised with this outcome, another draft pick for Dumont to use to make another selection(Martineau?) or deal for other assets.

I did not say WAY too early, I said TOO EARLY FOR THE MOOSE. They heard what he said to them, hear what I said, FOR GOOD REASON. What part of, DID NOT SHOW do you not understand. BYE!

Draft at 4 and 6 and go BPA. They along with Dubois are the future and pretty much untouchable. Use the rest as trade bait between the draft and xmas.

We should not trade either of the top two picks unless the return is good. As far as adding a twenty year old is concerned we should not be spending any more than a third or fourth rounder.

You get what you pay for. An impact 20 costs the 19th pick plus. We are looking to win a championship, so why would we not want an impact 20?

If you want a 20 year old who can help you compete for a championship you will need to spend a lot more then a third or fourth rounder.

Halifax got Stefan Fournier for a 3rd and a 7th round pick in 2012; he was an impact player for us.

Halifax didn't acquire him to be on a championship team. He was intended to help lead the rookies through a season of gaining experience and those rookies ended up being 2 of the best players in the country. If Halifax was a veteran team that everyone was expecting to compete do they make that same deal? Probably not. Looking at this season for us that gets us Marcus Hinds. I think we need to aim higher personally. Especially if Lazarev is not returning, though I have no indication of that being true or false at this point.

Actually Fournier was acquired to be on a championship team- he was traded for at the draft in June 2012. But it is apples and oranges when you compare Halifax in 2012 and Cape Breton in 2015. IMO you guys really should use the 1sts you have at the draft and kick the tires on OAs available for lesser picks but you don't want to give up too much. I think who you might have been thinking about Grenier for us in 2011- cost for us was a decent Euro pick and a 4th.

Cape Breton must be pulling for Veleno to get into this draft - It's very possible that Shane Bowers falls right into your lap. Some rumblings that Bathurst is more interested in Maxime Comtois and I'm thinking Victoriaville will take Antoine Morand at 3.
