A few things missing. Auger to Quebec, dumping 2 of their overagers they currently have 4. Cost for Auger would likely be the same as Fucale which allows them to keep another 20. SJ, CHA, Mon could all use good backups of some degree. You did not mention CB or CHI both potential teams looking to turn it around with goalie needs. Regardless of Auger to Quebec or not (and I really think Auger is staying put in SJ), I fully believe Quebec will try to upgrade on both Chapman and Etchegary regardless. Chapman obviously is gone once Burke comes back anyway. Quebec has limited assets to trade away to get better so they might end up having to keep Etchegary as the third 20 year old but I think they'll find a way to upgrade on him and you won't be seeing him and Chapman on the Remparts when all is said and done.

Most of you are more knowledgeable then myself. In your opinion, what are the chances Fucale plays in the Q next year. That could change teams perspectives of trading for him. He's done after this year. He's been a starter for 4 straight years, won a ton, 2 World Junior teams....he'll need a new challenge. Re: Fucale trade.....the only team I can see him going to is Quebec. A deal involving Booth and picks. Not a great year to be selling a #1 goalie. I think if Cam does anything, trading Fucale will be it. Ehlers isn't going anywhere. Hell, the way he's playing now, he can single handily win a playoff series lol. Say we deal with Quebec, get Booth and some picks, and go with what we have. We're not going anywhere this year, but there is value is getting the young guys playoff experience. You gotta admit, the team is playing pretty well right now. We're a 1 line team, but it's a hell of a line. Hopefully as the season goes along, some guys pick it up. We're seeing that right now with Shewfelt. I was hoping for a big sell this year, but I don't see it happening. Despite it, we'll still be in good shape going forward.

I just don't see us being in good shape going forward whatsoever unless Cam sells this trading period. Others on HF have said we don't need to sell either. We have had a lot of young players with us this year but aside from Nauss I don't see any true blue chippers. We have our picks plus some extras but we'll pick middle of the pack next year by standing pat.

We're not stockpiled with picks and prospects by any means, but considering the run we're coming off of, we're doing ok. We have a 1st and 2 2nds this year, and say for example we get Quebec's 1st next year, that's will be 2 1sts plus our own 2nd next year. That's 6 top picks to add talent with. And that's ONLY if we trade Fucale.
We already have Nauss, Crossley, Fortier, maybe Booth if we make a deal with Quebec (totally hypothetical), Dachyshyn in AAA. Decent amount to work with. Then you have guys like Watt and Shewfelt. They won't light the lamp, but solid contributors with 2 years left in the league. Of course you always want more picks, more prospects, but we're doing alright.
Picking middle of the pack picks isn't really a problem for Halifax imo.

I don't think Quebec has their 2015 1st rounder, but maybe their 2016 might be a better pick to get.

Booth may not be available with deal to play in Quebec. Quebec has no 1st. It maybe Brassard and later picks/players or nothing(Brassard could even be flipped to CB for Brassard 20). I think in a way Halifax owes Fucale another Memorial Cup run. Any selling by Halifax keeping him on a shitty team sucks. I would be happy with any deal that brings something that is reasonable.

Agree, They may prefer a 20 D. It was mentioned in another thread that(Quebec fan) they thought Burke would be upgraded. In any case they will likely pull the trigger with futures.

Didn't want to start a new thread for this but any word on if/when Meier goes to Swiss world junior camp. Same with Ehlers. Would they expect him to go to Denmark for camp and then back to Canada for the tournament?

Gets him home. i remember Meier went home for the Christmas break last year too and Ehlers stayed over there for some R&R after his team finished the B tournament...I would expect he goes back to Denmark if they are eliminated after first week too.

Bring the Denmark training camp to Halifax. Get opportunity to show some of the kids what its like over here, plus we'd get to keep Nik longer.
