Leroux is saying for future(s?) I think. My French is weak Leroux Tweet: Donc rappel Tkachev à Québec-Burke à Moncton-Lalonde à Shawinigan et des considérations futures à confirmer dans le temps des fêtes #LHJMQ Seems like he is saying that the futures will be made at Christmas time. Must be roster players. Maybe a young forward from Shaw (they have a ton of them) and no idea about Quebec (maybe Sutton?) but there must be more than just Burke and some late picks, they had to get rid of Burke anyway. Yeah trading Tkachev for Burke to me makes no sense...especially with the way he's played this year. If he is the value they'd have been better off to get Chapman cheap or Gauthier in the Lalonde deal, would have upgraded the #3-4 slots on D.

What is truly frustrating is that we will have to wait two weeks for this "Initial BOOM" to be fully played out/explained (opening of trade period). Its hard for the casual fan to see two of our more elite players shipped out rather quickly with essentially no return and Rumble and co really hog tied in terms of explaining the rationale/ our "real" return. What direction are we taking? Is it the Catnut direction of making room for another Euro and Defensive help or is it a true rebuild and this is the start? It is a state of limbo for the near future

It'll be interesting to see if Frederick Foulem is one of the futures from Shawinigan. They acquired the Dieppe native's rights from Bathurst last month. Despite having a committment to Harvard, being traded to his hometown team may convince him to report.

Seems like he is told these kinds of things and alludes to them in his articles sometimes.

Wishful thinking but imagine if the second part to the Tkachev was Dubeau for Booth. In the end... To Quebec: Vladimir Tkachev Alex Dubeau 2nd (Shaw) To Moncton Callum Booth Taylor Burke 7th & 8th

Shawinigan also has Ryan Brushett that they traded for earlier in the year, currently leading QAAA in scoring . Wonder if he could be coming back for one of the picks, he's an NCAA kid right now, you know how we love those . Really hard to make any sort of analysis until we know these deals are final. It'll be a long few weeks waiting

Something else being thrown around on the Quebec board is Kamaev heading to Moncton at the draft...
I wouldn't be opposed to this and could see it actually.
That makes Shannon's job much easier , being able to concentrate on getting one impact euro for next season..

Kamaev is playing a regular shift in the KHL so it would be a waste to pick him up, if he won't report to a cup host like quebec, it's no use... The rumor from a couple sources is a player from Que at the start of the trading period, that means a player on their roster, probably a 1997 or 1998...Rehill? Garneau? Sutton would be my guess?

Boucher swears there's no futures in the Tkachev deal.
There's a rumour Sweeney might be heading to Quebec.

If Moncton is not cashing out the only other logic is they want to get bigger with perhaps more character. If not I guess Halifax is going to be handed the Maritime division by default, if Sweeney is going too. Sounds like you got ripped if the deals stand as is. A 2nd in 2017 for Sweeney!

Boucher swears there's no futures in the Tkachev deal. There's a rumour Sweeney might be heading to Quebec. If there are no futures then that is likely the most lopsided trade in the q this year. Traded a top Euro for a 20 who wasn't in Quebec's plans and everyone knew they had to trade him and some late picks. I would almost rather keep Sweeney for this year and next than what Quebec is likely to offer. Other than Sutton, what does Quebec have to offer? Do they have any picks at all?

I wouldn't be surprised to see Timashov traded here sometime in the off-season (obviously sometime when he is able to be traded). It would make sense since Moncton would then only need to draft one new euro

Hodge says we will get three impact veterans from the two trades, a goalie, a defenceman and a forward. I am assuming they will be 17 or 18 since Shannon mentioned they were strengthening the future. I am hoping Burke is not one of them but who knows.
