How do you get out coached at home? Yes, you want your top line out there as much as you can, unfortunately so does the other team. I think we give up too much when their top two guys are out there with our top two. We have two that don't play the full 200. I don't care about "so and so" having a great fitness level, after a 2-3 minutes shift you are doing some coasting somewhere out there on the ice...and you can guess which direction you are floating
Lose at home is one thing, but lose because you get out coached is another. We can dump on Dubeau and the D-corps all we want but if you have no support in the high slot and along the boards by our forwards then Ehlers and co. have too much room to manoeuvre in. Too bad the game wasn't like a store bought product where we can take it back if it was defective for a refund. Oh well we won 3 in Chicoutimi so it is possible we are back in Moncton for game 5

9 points in 7 games, top scorer on his team. Yep, I was there for most of it. Point was: he didn't lead a team by the Mooseheads. Obviously he did his part, not his fault taht they lost.

Two observations that I made, 1) They can't beat the refs 2) You can't win only using 1 1/2 lines (Garland and Barb are a half line because they don't skate) Why would they need to "beat the refs"? Refs definitely didn't lose them the games. The way Barbashev and garland play/are handled is not an issue in the regular season, but at playoff time where you play the same team and more strategy is implemented, definitely causes issues. Barbashev most of his career was a guy that played hard and with an edge, this series he's doing a lot of floating and hanging out close to the blueline looking for a quick break. If you are up against an Ehlers or Meier, you can get burnt and they did...a lot.

When guys are used to 2 minute and 2 min 30 sec shifts it's hard to change that at playoff time. PP also needs adjustments, Halifax is playing a tight box, not allowing a lot of cross ice passes or leaving the d-man open(usually Sweeney but was Tassi yesterday) in the slot.

How many powerplays did Moncton have that they did not score on? It must be double the number of Moosehead powerplays. Third period last night 5-3 and they get the PP we all knew was coming...and notta ..killed again by Halifax. Usually they score there then pull goalie and score. Then force OT and win. Halifax has way more reason to blame the refs in those two games in what has been a relatively clean two games both sides they have been short the most.

This should have been more than a 2 and should have been a suspension.

When u find the video of the cross-check on Ehlers they called 4 minutes that easily could have been a 5 minute I will help u mail these to the league. I wonder who would be missed by his team more? Johnson or Bent?
P.S. note the interference call on Malatesta the ref missed should have been coincidentals

When we win the 2 games in Halifax, this thread will be long forgotten. Desperate hockey will bring out the best our team.

The Wildcats have been called on fewer penalties than Halifax has. So no, you cannot use that weak excuse, nice try though. The double minor and the major were both warranted. And to clarify, yes Halifax has deserved every penalty it was assessed. But it's the same both ways. The refs have been pretty decent. theqmjhl.ca/reports/games/3800/officialtheqmjhl.ca/reports/games/3801/official

Malatesta should have definitely got 2 minutes for interference but look at the clip again, Bent takes him into a headlock and slams him against the glass. How is that not as bad as Johnson's shove on Ehlers?
