Would be an interesting 1-year experiment, but you don't experiment with things like that. I don't think it would work, doubt the attendance would even split in half, and of course Bobby Smith wouldn't want to see his attendance decline. They would abandon whichever team sucks at the time. When the Mooseheads sell out a game, how many people on the outside of that sellout are actually looking for tickets? I bet it is under 1000. But say for the sake of the argument, someone had cash to put a another team here, is there any type of veto to stop this from happening? Instead of a second team in Halifax, maybe they should put a QMJHL team in Cape Breton Booooooooooo

Fun trip to Moncton tonight. Not the result of course but really good effort. Debeau made a really nice glove save with 2 mins left that would have cut the lead to one. The Cat fans were great and didn't give is a hard time. I did however find it cheap that they played Farewell to Nova Scotia with about 15 seconds left to play, while the play was going on. I don't care if they game is over but not while the clock is still ticking. Would definitely head back up for another playoff game. Hopefully with a better drive home. I didn't like that either. They have been playing that song for years when the Cats beat the Moose or CB ... no big deal. But at that moment it was stupid ... and it didn't need to be played at all at the end of the Moose season ... win classy ... not like assholes.

I have no problem with playing farewell to Nova Scotia. They've been doing it for as long as I can remember but playing it during play is just stupid.

Kinda cool what you and Steve are saying about being classy, as much as fans go on about stuff on these sites we are all just Hockey fans. I think sometimes the Organization(s) have less class with their DJ's Mascots, Announcers etc. Its not the fans who always do the unclasp stuff its the Organization itself. Farewell to Nova Scotia is funny at the right timing.

I don't care if they play it when the game is over, but I couldn't believe they played it during the play. I must say the width of the concession hall is amazing, you must feel claustrophobic getting a beet at the Scotiabank Centre. However the parking lot was a gong show

Dont listen to Jacques. Halifax loves when visitors come to support their team and also support our local businesses during their visit. Please continue to come when we play again... All fans of other teams. (We are not ALL like that)

I can't beleive people don't back into their parking space, and then try to back out with 1000 cars going in all directions. Free parking in a giant lot makes going to the games easier. If we ever build a new facility downtown ... many will stay home rather than have to hunt for and pay for parking. It will probably take a few years for people to figure it out.

Referencing the "Farewell To Nova Scotia", I am of the view this tune is out of context as a tune to be played at the end of a sporting event in celebrating of a defeated team(from NS). Google it to get the context of this particular song as I won't go into it. It seems it has been on the cycle here at our Coliseum for a few years and I am personally tired of hearing it every time Halifax or Cape Breton looses at times, a well fought match. It gives the impression we are all NB Saint John Valley bible belt country hicks - which most are not. The old" naw.naw, naw, hey, hey good-bye" rant is ok and it resonates at all rinks win or loose but the "farewell" is worn out. We have some weird announcers from these silly FM radio stations with the worn out intermission antics - like slinging kids and at times grown men down the ice to knock over some canvas bags with their constant yapping every minute. Also one of those FM station announcers constantly adds an'er after every word/ syllable, Jesus I am embarrassed every time this dude is yapping. Our Coliseum needs a remake of its programs as quite outdated.......
Finally I noted last night after the team handshake, the Moose players went over to their fans to acknowledge their presence, the fans stood up to applaud and as the Moose were exiting the ice, all Cat fans in my area and others stood up and gave the Moose a fine applaud which we were all happy to do.

Definitely, lots of hatred builds up during the series but seeing all 7 games in person gave me a certain appreciation for the players on the moose that you might only see once a month or so during the season. Hardie in particular is a player who I would have loved to have on the Cats, he is the definition of "solid". By the end of the series you can easily pick out whos on the ice from Halifax just by their skating strides like I can do for the wildcats. Small things like that is why I love the playoffs.

Lol, the context is irrelevant. Kiss Him Goodbye is about someone caught in a love triangle hoping the girl chooses him over the other guy. That obviously has nothing to do with a home sports team defeating a visiting sports team but it still works. I don't mind them playing Farewell to Nova Scotia during a stoppage. Just keep it classy after the final buzzer.

Subtract the 3500 or so season ticket holders from that total and you have about the same as the Provincial A teams in the late 80's early 90's..... Basically the player's parents and a few lost souls who thought they were getting into the bingo hall. You don't think Halifax could support two major junior teams? Absolutely not.
