If a new team were to go in Nova Scotia. Darmouth is the most logical location for being in HRM and having the Sportsplex, but that rink is not the greatest spot for overall Fan experience. Bars are really not close parking is minimal and I think someone gets assaulted every 3 months at the bus station. Would have to put the new team in a new Shannon Park rink.
But if a New team were coming to the Atlantic I would pick either Fredericton, NewGlasgow, Truro or Yarmouth as my Possible Locations.
......Dartmouth is kina just spreading out an already established market and maybe adding a few newcomers to the new team.

I don't see another team in the HRM, it's just too close to Halifax. I can't imagine Bobby Smith being cool with losing 2-3000+- fans from his fan base, making his profits less and his rink emptier. I think initially life long Moose fans would continue to want to be a Moosehead fan, but over time I could see a significant portion of fans start to stick with the team that likely charges less per game (not having to lease the MC - unless ticket prices are the same no matter where you go) and is closer to your home. The lack of a good alternate rink is an issue as well. Sportsplex has the seats but not the facilities needed (food, bathrooms, parking (doesn't take much to fill the lot, then where?)).
We have the population to perhaps support another team, but the way the majority of the population is primarily wrapped around the same harbour, I can't see it working.

Here is a question for all Moose fans that live outside of Halifax proper ... areas like Bedford, L Sackville, Dartmouth, etc.
If a new team came to Dartmouth ... or a new rink in say Bedford ... would you drop being a Moose fan to become a fan of the new Dartmouth Demons or the Bedford Blues ?

3000 not good enough anymore. The only rinks that can hold people are both in Halifax, based on that, I don't think it could work for two teams. Would be cool if you could put another team in Sackville or Dartmouth. I'd love to see more teams in Atlantic Canada period. Has a city in Canada ever built a new rink with the sole purpose of getting a CHL franchise? Anyone?

I'm sure you were. Did you yell at the wrestlers and call them names ? Not sure if that is a diss or just joking with me. Either way, I'm not sure what to say. haha.

While it would be more convenient to attend games in Dartmouth for me, I wouldn't support a new team when the existing team needs support. If anyone who didn't live in Halifax proper stopped attending Mooseheads games, they'd likely have to fold. Can they survive on ~3k attendance? Doubt it.

But of course they should not spend money to build another facility just so we can have another CHL team in the region. 1 is enough, but perfect scenario... 1 more would be cool!

A often wonder how many people on the Peninsula that don't live in an apartment actually care about the Mooseheads. If I had to guess, not many. I have no answer to SteveUL's question, really not sure. I guess whoever had the best attraction at the time or whoever was deeper into the playoffs, etc.

Well I could see being a fan of both. I mean some people do much stranger things like VD and Moncton! The sportsplex looks like it could go higher with the roof so adding another 1000 could be easy. It just has one side overlap with boxes and its a end. Parking is an issue in the lot but not on streets.

Hmmm fair question. I guess what I'm getting at is probably there are more interested outside the Peninsula than there are in the Penisula. I have no evidence to base this on though.

What a shit show that would be, parking on a street for the game and someone asking you if you are looking for company that night.

I hope they meet in the Finals
