Palov thinks Moose will draft 2 imports and put Meier and Ehlers on the special list. Would be a good move for futures and most likely only Meier comes back so perhaps drop 2nd round player. Could be a 19 though so trade Meier so they can use a first next year.

Do they talk to say a 19 year old about coming, but with the caveat that hey we might not need you? Not sure how many guys would want that kind of uncertainty? I think maybe with the 2nd pick maybe really go for a young guy that has a slim chance of reporting and then maybe try to get him for maybe the season after next.

Thing is the 1st pick could be even higher next year(2016) or at least about the same. Therefore a better 1st round player next year than a 2nd round this year. Only way to use it though is 1 new player this year is gone. Cant trade the new players until after the next import draft so drop him after 1 year. If 19 not a big problem as will be 20 but would have to trade Meier to use him at 19 for the season. Maybe your first rounder does not show this year and you keep Meier with the 2nd round player. Lots of options.

I think they should find a way to trade up. They must have a couple of pieces SJ could use to help them. Say Donaghey and the Mooses first this year, for first overall this year.

This isn't a go for it year for them is it? If it is then maybe they would be interested in Donaghey, Brassard?, and maybe Ehlers or Meier. I would love to get Drouin Jr., but I doubt any of that would happen.

Doubt sant john would entertain offers for first pick. They have other firsts they may move but unlikely they would move number 1.

Sea Dogs "go for it" year is 2017. Brassard, Ehlers and Donaghey would be no use to them. Meier would be but he, along with 7th overall pick isn't worth Veleno or, even, Bowers.

The only question for Saint John is whether it will be Joseph Veleno or Shane Bowers ... although Comtois is still possible too but I'd say they would be leaning towards Bowers given the connection between Young and Bowers' agent.
Maxime Comtois and Antoine Morand will be showcasing their skills today at 5pm in the Telus Cup Final
In 6 games Comtois has 8 goals and 5 assists while Morand has 2 goals and 8 assists

Might not be a bad plan to trade Meier next year if he returns(I think he is 90% coming back), you get to accelerate the rebuild.

According to Mikael Lalancette of TVA Sports, Blainville-Boisbriand offered 1+1+2+2+3 + prospect for Ehlers but Halifax declined.

Sounds bad, but we had heard earlier in the year that Ehlers didn't want to be traded. You run the risk of a guy like him "going home" if you trade him. If that was indeed the case, that offer really didn't mean much.

I guess though if Ehlers wanted to stay. Did give us a fun playoffs.
