Is there a date for the decision on Veleno? You think they would have made a decision by now. Strange that they didn't allow Crosby but they will allow Veleno. There was no formal 'exceptional status' process when Crosby was 15. Pretty sure Halifax tried to get the league to allow Crosby play for the Mooseheads in 2002. Similar situation with Spezza and Brampton in '98, I think.

With the 19th pick from Oleary release CB should be in the dealing mood with 3 picks. 1-St-John (Drum) 2-Bathurst 3-Victoriaville 4-Cape-Breton (Chi) 5-Charlottetown (Gat) 6-Cape-Breton 7-Halifax 8-Rouyn-Noranda 9-St-John 10-St-John (Cha) 11-Blainville (She) 12-Chicoutimi (BC) 13-Val-D'Or 14-Shawinigan 15-Val-D'Or (QC) 16-Blainville 17-Moncton 18-Drummondville (Rim) If quebec were to beat rimouski, their pick falls to 18 right? No ... it is strictly based on regular season standings ... playoffs have no bearing. The draft positions are already set.

The Q league doesn't like to rate Atlantic players high, unless it's too obvious (Crosby, MacKinnon, etc.) I don't disagree although the players ranked in the 1st Round are accurate Bowers and Hoyt make sense I should have said they don't like to rank Atlantic players no. 1. It wasn't meant to disparage Bowers or any other Atlantic players who may rank near the top. There's a lot of politics when player rankings are compiled. The final QMJHL Central Scouting rankings from the QMJHL website: theqmjhl.ca/central-scouting-list/

They have 3 in the 2nd round too, or maybe 4. It hasn't been said what round that 19th pick is going to be in. I think they will use the number 4 pick if Veleno is aloud in the draft. If that's the case they then have one of Bowers, Comtois or the Morand kid. My guess is they get Morand, and then they could have to high end young guys for after this season with Dubois. CB is not hiding the fact that this is the go for it year. They need a 20yo forward that's at lest a ppg player. Also a 18 or 19yo player that's the same type of player to solidify there top 2 lines. With the 6th and 19th plus 3 other 2nds I think they should be able to get one of those players.

Just had a a chance to check out and skim the list. Really surprised Kynan Berger is rated 45. Seen this kid in the playoffs a few times and thought he is a 2nd rounder for sure. Good size, plus skater and his shot is a pro shot. He is a player I think will have a great Q career. Defiantly will be a player play on the top 2 lines of a team. Of he falls to the 3rd round I think he will be a huge steel there. Moose should grab him if in the third if he is still there.
Also the Mac's goalie is rated around 40 if he's there and they don't pick another goalie he's a good one too. They way the league has gone lately they like to swoop up the goals in rounds 2 and 3. He's rated as the 4th goalie to go. If that is the case he might be available around then.

He did threaten to go NCAA if he did not get exceptional status. This could likely lead to him not going first if the team picking does not think he will report next year.

Looking at his numbers, I expected better. But numbers doesn't tell the entire story. He could be the most intelligent player on the ice by far, could be the best all-around player, might make his teammates better than him. I'm guessing he was denied based on a combination emotional maturity and numbers? I'm sure he will be a fine player despite not being granted this status. As far as him going the NCAA route, hahahaha.

Advisor could be at fault too assuming they are professional. Someone has to take the responsibility.

If his people screwed things up then he shouldn't be shitty with the league and go NCAA because he screwed himself.

Sure there should be a deadline, but if the player is really good, don't let bureaucracy get in the way. I'm sure most players would respect the deadline and this wasn't intentional.
