Road fans coming over to rant about Garland and its only August, should be a fun season! Sounds like Garland is already in mid-season form.

Sounds like Rumble wasn't too impressed with Garland's penalties last night.

Sounds like Rumble wasn't too impressed with Garland's penalties last night. Good. Garland needs to be pegged down a bit. His antics were borderline too much last year and now with a scoring title under his belt I'm afraid it might push him over that line.

Sad to think he was "minutes away" from committing to Moncton.

Beaton traded to Quebec for a 10th in 2018. Becomes an 8th if he plays after Christmas.
Bornstein released. Not sure I understand this move at all. Brings the Cats to a grand total of four players under the age of 18. Yikes.

Brings the Cats to a grand total of four players under the age of 18. Yikes. Dropping him and keeping Guay is a huge head scratcher. From what I saw he seemed like he was good and only 17. Don't like having such an old team.

I watched yesterday's game and was very unimpressed with Sacha Guay. He had far too many turnovers and did not look like a 19 year old out there I was certain he was getting cut. I really hate this move.

I really hate this move. Not only that but it's a 19 year old on the 3rd pair. No way he plays ahead of Johnston/Sweeney Malatesta Klebanksyj and Holwell.

The only way this makes sense is if Bornstein was gonna be the healthy scratch for 80% of the games. This way they can have a 19 year old sit out 80% of the games and fill him in whenever. Although I don't get why you couldn't just do that with a guy like Alex Lavoie who's playing in Dieppe. Knowing Shannon and since the league is pretty much wide open, I wouldn't be surprised to see them go for it this year. It would obviously be stupid but I can see it happening.

Hopefully Bornstein can find a place in the MJAHL maybe Woodstock or something.

I went to yesterdays game vs Saint John. Just some thoughts of the players.
Fortin - Seems to overplay and makes some easy shots more difficult then they have to be. Still seems solid in nets getting the shutout.
Holwell - Seems to improved a bit. Rumble had him QB on the powerplay. Not a fan of that. He doesnt have the vision of skillset to be a good QB. His goal wasnt even his. It deflected off Corson's shin pads.
Sweeney - Didn't do much. Has to work on his shot.
Bornstein - Looked decent. Had a good quick wrister from the point. Little weaker in the defensive end but that what you expect from an offensive defencman. Could develop into something good. Just on the smaller side. Not a fan of him getting cut over Guay.
Klebanskyj - Solid. Didnt notice him much. I count that as a good thing.
Glassl - I like the way he plays. Simplifies his skating and looks solid. Just has to adjust his speed to this level. Will be a solid defensive defenceman.
Guay - Not a fan. Hes 19 and had a lot of bad turnovers. Looked lost at times. I would say he is a project but he's 19. I don't see what Rumble sees in him.
Garland - Didn't seem to try much. Cherry picked a lot as usual. Didn't create as much offence as he usually does. His goal came from a breakaway from him cherry picking. He needs a star player to play with that can put it in the net. He was playing with Askew and MacEwen and not much was being generated.
Smith - Looked good. Created a lot of turnovers. Rather then trying to set up a play, he likes to just put it on net which isn't a bad thing but on a 3 on 1, it would be nice to pass rather then just putting it in the goalie's chest.
MacEwen - Limited skill. Works hard though and creates scoring opportunities. Don't think he should be on the powerplay or play with Garland. More of a 3rd or 4th liner.
Johnson - Played with Smith and Bower. The line looked god and created a lot of scoring chances. Nothing good or bad really to say here.
Murphy - Had a beauty of a goal. (Looked a little lucky.) He seems like he has improved from last year. Thats when he comes to play and work hard.
Klima - Great speed. Looked good again and created some chances. I am surprised he went pointless last night.
Cormier - Didn't do much. Was looking for a fight for a lot of the game. Fianlly found one at the end of the game.
Tibbo - Didn't notice him much.
Askew - Has good speed when he uses it. It would be great to see him try to take the outside on a defencman rather then try and deke through him and lose is all the time.
Corson - Honestly, I think he got worse then last years training camp. I really liked his game last year being a little aggitator with offensive skill. This year, he hasn't done any of that and hasn't impressed.
Bower - Looks the same as last year.
Leger - I wish he would put more intensity into his skating. He could be good but does't even look like he tries. Didn't do much last night. His goal came off a rebound that Bishop screwed up on.
