I'd be shocked if Bertrand wasn't picked up if waived. He's full of energy and a complete team player.

I don't think the Bowers situation is a mid-season deal. That's the type of thing that gets done at a draft. (took it here so as to not make the GM thread about Bowers lol) You have to decide on whether to take the comp pick before the trading period opens up. So the Bowers situation could be resolved before the draft if they decide to cut ties. Of all the possible situations, I think Dumont taking the comp pick is the least likely.

Matt Williams is starting in goal this evening for Summerside and the back up is affiliate Grant Grady which leads me to believe that MacCallum is indeed on his way to Cape Breton.

Story in the Summerside newspaper indicates that MacCallum is leaving the Jr. A Capitals to play in Cape Breton for the remainder of the season.
Beware the Caps hothead GM Pat McIver. He'll be out for revenge. If you end up with someone on your team playing Jr. A in Summerside, he'll find some way to extract his payback.
MacCallum might be looking at this an opportunity to audition for a 20 y/o job for next season. Most Charlottetown followers are big supporters of MacCallum. He was hit and miss most of last season but improved as the season progressed. As everybody knows, he bailed us out big time in playoffs after McDonald went down. He played very well for us at the start of this season until the team decided to opt with Welsh as a 16 y/o backup behind McDonald rather than the 19 y/o MacCallum. He was a very popular teammate in the Islanders dressing room.
He's a good backup who'll push Belanger for starts.

www.journalpioneer.com/Sports/Hockey/2016-01-07/article-4397138/MacCallum-leaves-Caps/1Goalie joins Cape Breton of QMJHL SUMMERSIDE – The Summerside D. Alex MacDonald Ford Western Capitals are now in the hunt for a goaltender. © Jason Simmonds/Journal Pioneer Goaltender Daryl MacCallum chats with goaltending coach Eric Morency during his first practice with the Summerside D. Alex MacDonald Ford Western Capitals at Credit Union Place in November. That’s because former Charlottetown Islander Daryl MacCallum of Sherwood is headed back to the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League. “Daryl MacCallum was traded yesterday (Wednesday) to Val-d’Or by Chicoutimi,” explained Capitals general manager Pat McIver on Thursday night. “Val-d’Or wanted him as an affiliate goalie and insurance policy. “In order to do that they had to put him on waivers today (Thursday). He was claimed by Cape Breton and Daryl has decided to leave our team and go to Cape Breton for the rest of the season. McIver said it’s “disappointing” for the organization to lose the 19-year-old MacCallum, especially so close to Sunday’s 10 p.m. roster deadline and after the Caps “worked hard for a long time” to grant his trade request to Summerside. how long does the waiver period last It's just a waiver draft but then maybe other players get added after...they just do a draft...contact each team one by one... Team rosters have to be set by Sunday.

I would like to see the eagles add one more solid Dman.Don't know much about thee Bisson kid from Baie-Comeau bur his numbers weren't bad considering he was playing with a team mired in last place.Maybe he will be a pleasant surprise.Good to see that Maccallum is coming. I think he will be a solid backup and might really push Belanger to play better, might even steal the starters job. like to see the Eagles go on a little run here, I think 5th or 6th place is not an unreal expectation.I think Quebec and Rimouski might slip a bit, could be a tough sled to catch Moncton for first in the division.

Well it was good to get a solid back up for free.
Be nice to see the boys light it up down the stretch. 6 place would be nice at this point but that's going to be a tough task.
