First two SJ goals were because Leveille was watching the play behind the net and left a man wide open, I held my breath every time he touched the puck! What happened to that kid,he was a great skater when he arrived here. I was terrified every time he was on the ice tonight. The kid won't use his body. It looks like he's fly fishing out there. There was one penalty kill where he had an open side to ring it around the boards and out and he waits, turns and weakly throws it up the centre of the slot right onto the tape of a Sea Dog. On another play a Sea Dog was driving the net and Levilleve had position on him and had him outside. He then blatantly seemed to let him get inside position on him so he could hook him which sent him to the box. Countless times he'd have the puck on his stick deep in our end with no pressure and he'd just do something absolutely silly and the puck would belong to Saint John. A fella I sat beside said he couldn't believe how much he's degressed since not being drafted and that he's gone between the two ears.

Few quick comments. Full marks to the Sea Dogs for being better prepared and bringing a better work ethic than the Eagles. Loik Leveille?, please sit him, I won't criticize him, just look at the game highlights. Fournier played like a fish out of water with joly and Dubois while Hoyt was nailed to the bench again. Coaching, coaching, coaching. Outcoached again. Watch the video of the last 1;34 of the game Down a goal, goalie out, faceoff in their end, six faceoffs, Sea Dogs won all six so cleanly its like the Eagles centermen were not even. Have a look for yourself and see. That is one of the finer points of the game that should be taught in practice (psst, Dumont, wake up) That's it.

Wouldnt shock me if Levielle was back as a 20 despite his play. I think Dumont should shop him in June at the draft. It's funny, I remember saying he and Noel got robbed by getting passed over last year, i guess only Noel was robbed as of now at least

The Sea Dogs D along with their goaltending gives them a huge advantage. Their D are very composed with the puck and make good breakout and transition passes 90 to 95 % of the time and they do a better job of blocking shots as well.
I thought the Boucher hit on Chabot early in the game was really going to set the tone but the Eagles forecheck wasn't the same after the 1st period. Bishop's play in the first really gave the Eagles a huge boost but understandably he was not as effective later on in the game. They certainly missed Martineau's energy out there last night.
Chabot to his credit, jumped up after the Boucher hit and had 4 assists on the night while logging an awful lot of ice time!

Bertrand penalty is bullshit, where the hell is he suppose to go? The penalty shot was also a bogus call. It should have been a hooking penalty. And then they follow up by plays where the refs tolerate everything and then they start calling the Eagles at half the 3rd period. No consistency! It was called a hooking penalty. Congrats to Saint John. They played a discipline game and seemed to cash in on every solid chance they had In the first half of the game even though we had more chances early on. I thought the refs actually did a good job letting the teams play except for maybe 1 call. When Boucher flattened Chabot a couple minutes I was waiting for a penalty cause all big hits seem to be called.
Chabot continues to impress me. I think that is the 1 area of our team we needed to improve at the deadline. A true quarterback on D really changes everything when you see Chabot for a couple games.
Horrible game by Leveille. I don't think he did anything right the whole game.
Bishops line looked solid all night but didn't get putting Fournier with the Russians or Bertrand with Jolly and Dubois when Hoyt was sitting on the bench?? I know Dumont was trying to spread the scoring to 3 lines but he a few times I found they looked out of place. Hopefully Martineau is back in next game and we can get Svechnikov going.
We won 2 of 3 in Saint John already so I'm not giving up on our team just yet. A lot of people figured this would go seven games and with all the veterans on this team I like our chances.

With Martineu out I dunno why he don't use hoyt on the first 2 lines if your gonna use him in defence situations it's just bad I would much rather macsween on the 4th line

Under using guys like Hoyt kill their confidence and ruins their development

bowne1987, I'm not talking about just one game but about the series and I still stand by my statement that the Sea Dogs D are much more composed compared to the Eagles D.

I stand by my comment that the sky is blue. It's as obvious as saying the Sea Dogs D are much more composed. In reality it's all about 1 player leading the way for them though. Their D is following the lead of their best player.
