If anyone locates the talented goal scoring Russian by the name of svechnikov someone let him know game 7s on Tuesday btw. Any time he wants to start playing like a 1st round nhl draft pick that'd be greattt He was awful tonight. I keep thinking that he's going to break out with a big game but at this point I'm not sure it's going to happen. Being outplayed by every other top 6 forward on the Eagles right now.. an arguably even some of the bottom 6 guys lol

Our Defence struggled mightily . Ballergeon and Dower outplayed Gosselin , Leveille and even MacIntyre . That was our biggest weakness coming out of the trade period. Its the difference in this series going 7 vs being over in our favor imo. Why we made the deals we did and never picked up 1 more veteran top 4 D along the way will probably puzzle people for a long time if we cant win game 7.

Dubois was a force every time on the ice. Nice to watch. Belanger looked nonchalant at times, big rebounds, casually pushing it aside. Fiore was great too. Joly did more in the third but was not what I was expecting for most of the game.
Need to have everyone at 100% intensity.

Made no sense to me to play a short bench tonight. We were not the team facing elimination and could have used some of that energy in the 3rd.

If only the pure skill our forwards possess could be properly utilized in a good system. Intensity is exactly what cost us the 3rd and the game tonight. Need to see it all left on the ice Tuesday.

First two SJ goals were because Leveille was watching the play behind the net and left a man wide open, I held my breath every time he touched the puck! What happened to that kid,he was a great skater when he arrived here.

And turcotte punched him... No call what bothers me is the refs would not call a hook or a hold for the first 2 periods then they start calling them in the third it's not a hard thing to be cunsistent with your calls lack of cunsistentcy is what makes a horrible ref Ok but there were 58 other minutes played. We kill 3 penalties tonight and we win the game.

His head never seems into the situation. Always slow to react at times where more intensity is needed. Also doesnt seem to have near the confidence with the puck that he once did. Yet the first one to shoot his mouth off during a stoppage.

I agree with the comments about using a short bench tonight. Was not necessary. You have some good players on the 3rd and 4th line and they could have helped. Could they have been any worse than some of them out there. Hard to play 60 minutes effectively with a tired team. You have a 1st round draft pick in Hoyt that has seen limited ice time in these playoffs. Sad to see...especially since Reginato left and is seeing much more ice than Hoyt....just saying

Eagles had last change. Could the reason they used a short bench be because that's what Saint John was doing? I only listened to the game on the radio but I barely heard Pare or King mentioned at all. I did hear Reginato a few times though.

Okay I think it's time to give the refs a break here. Seeing people saying these refs handed the seadogs the game are ridiculous. Aside from the Bertrand penalty ( which was questionable, could have gone either way), every call they made was spot on. Set the tone early in the first with a penalty on a dirty hit giving the Eagles an early power play. Did they miss a few calls? Yes, but they missed them on both sides.
The Eagles lost this game because they were out worked by the road team. Plain and simple. There was no consistency in the compete level throughout the 60 mins. Sloppy passes breaking out of the defensive end and through the neutral zone, made it extremely difficult for them to get anything going late in the game when they needed it. Defense left Belanger out to dry a number of times with passes right in front of the net, not picking up a guy in the front of the net, shooting the puck wide/high instead of on net through traffic.
If you're looking for someone to blame for this loss, there's 22 guys with black, white, and yellow shirts on you can point to, not 4 wearing black and white.
Side note; completely disagree with the misuse of Peyton Hoyt. Kid is the future of our team and Dumont seems hell bent on keeping his ice time under 5 mins per game. Needs to start seeing a couple PP's and PK's to get him used to playoff hockey. A regular shift wouldn't hurt either.

Couldn't agree more with the short bench comments. It showed in the 3rd the big guns were slowing down.
