The trade deadline is going to be pretty boring...even more so then usual. Columbus isn't going to throw in the towel and they're about the only team who can really control how exciting the deadline becomes. Watching Adam McQuaid go for a 5th rounder in 2020 is going to be the excitement of trade center this year while the talking heads creams themselves over the 34.6% of cap retention and how it both sets up the Rangers rebuild and helps push a contender over the top... I think the Ottawa guys move(at least 2 of 3), plus Skinner and a few others, some relatively big deadline names. Buffalo isn't selling while 2 points out. Ottawa will move guys but thats probably the most quality we see.

They can likely get a 1st round pick and more for him.

I'd expect Duchene will be moved.... but that will happen before the actual deadline... I still think Stone signs
I'd also expect Zuccarello might move.... but again that type of deal likely happens a few days prior to the actual deadline
the deadline day itself will be several hours of talking about very minor moves with a late flurry of bottom pairing dmen and depth forwards or AHLers moving

There is some interesting talk on TV on deadline day(I love hearing what guys like Mckenzie, Dreger, Johnson and Ferraro think), but there is also about 8 hours of “fluff”. I’m more likely to tune in and out as moves come than watch religiously for 8 hours.

I think Duchene stays put in Ottawa ......and Stone moves . I would say move them all, but that isn't Melnyk's style.

They gave up Kyle Turris to get Jonathan Girard , Shane Bowers and The Potential First Overall Pick in The 2019 Draft for him ...........he can sign an Eight Year Deal for 64 Million (on the table)....so hethins he can get 9 mil a year somewhere else on a max 7 year deal ? .....I say he doesn't get it.......he is not that good !

I said it at the time, Ottawa will lose big on the Duchesne trade, don't see them getting anything close to what they gave up.

Probably has more to do with the fact the owner wouldn’t pay another guy to do the GM job when he has one under contract. As long as you still have term on your deal, as long as Melnyk is owner, you have to feel pretty safe about the idea that you’re not going to be fired.

Nikita Kucherov is just unstoppable right now....... he's one point shy of 100 and it's not even the trade deadline yet.... whose the last guy to do that??
also what a crazy game last night in Chicago... another team that is filling the net lately.... since putting their two stars together and reuniting the old junior connection when they smartly acquired Dylan Strome for peanuts... first period featured both goalies out of the game and 9 total goals scored.... brought back fun memories of watching hockey when i was a teen
