A non-factor at the Memorial Cup? You obviously didn’t watch any of the Mooseheads games in that tournament. I watched all the gams. Then you don’t remember Lavoie having 2 of the nicest goals in that tournament then, the SH goal against Guelph and the breakaway goal against RN in the final.

I think the only thing people remember is the moose blowing a 2-0 lead and the huskies lifting there second championship trophy in 2 weeks on Mooseheads home ice.

As a Mooseheads fan I remember it all too well, I'm just not going to have a hate on for Lavoie and be smug that he wasn't a 1st round pick. I see you agreeing with Billy here about Lavoie, just keep in mind that once upon a time he shit on Mackinnon in his draft year as Moncton Scout on HF boards... just want to let you know who you are agreeing with here. For what it is worth seeing as how this is the Montreal board here, Caufield was the right pick at #15.

I thought for sure they were gonna take Lavoie , seeing Poulin and Pelletier go ahead of him was surprising . Montreal didn’t even interview Lavoie.

Not a lot to talk about so far but it should pick up soon. I like the Caufield pick, he's a guy that should arrive pretty quick, maybe as early as 2020 if he tears it up NCAA. the best pure scorer in the draft, size is not ideal, but it's easier to find size than skill, plus they have 3 centers above 6' in Danault JKK and Poehling. I like the pick too. Teammate with #1 overall pick, Jack Hughes. Hughes 50GP 34G 78A 112 pts Caulfield 64GP 72G 28A 100 pts During the WJC-U18: Hughes 7GP 9G 11A 20 pts Caulfield 7GP 14G 4A 18 pts Yeaj, he's small......but what a sniper.

Reilly will likely be the #6 or 7 d-man, he is making peanuts 1.8% of the cap. The guy had some good periods where he was playing top 4 minutes and didn't look out of place, I'd rather gamble on him, a guy that may still improve than sign a 33 year old has been...and had Bergevin done that, you'd be the first one to whine that he is signing guys that are old and finished...there is no pleasing doom and gloom folks like you.

I'm not riled up at all
I just don't understand the obsession of Bergefin to waste his cap money on the bottom of the lineup repeatedly while doing very little to address the top of the lineup
There's no reason to sign every depth player you acquire who proves he can't stay in the lineup... yet Bergevin does it year after year

Do you think that Bergevin can persuade Gardiner to come here for 700K per year? Any guy you sign as a #6 or 7 will cost around 1M minimum, I’d rather a guy that showed flashes and has skill and mobility and pay him a bit more. The Habs have turned over the top of the lineup as much as anybody the last 2-3 years…Domi Drouin Tatar Danault JKK Mete.

Bergevin loads up the bottom lines and bottom d pairing witrh NHL vets that he acquires... and that wind up doing very little. I'd prefer to leave those spots for the kids from the draft/farm team to develop..... like most teams do Bergevin has done alot of good the past year and a half after doing alot of bad up til that point..... but he is still obsessed with the bottom of the lineup if it was just Reilly... no problem.... but it's Reilly on top of Folin, Ouellet, Kulak, Benn... up front Thompson, Deslauriers, Weise etc

Ouellet played most of last year in the AHL. Weise is likely to end up there also. Over the years MB has gotten a lot of mileage on guys that cost nothing or were very cheap...Byron(57G the last 3 years), Kulak, Benn, Weal, Deslauriers(17-18), Weise(1st time around), Weise and Fleischmann eventually turned into Danault and 2nd(Romanov).

To Habs: 2nd round pick in 2020 7th round pick in 2020 3rd round pick in 2021. To Chicago: Andrew Shaw 7th round pick in 2021. I’d consider this a decent trade for the Habs. Not sure where Shaw would fit in with the team next year anyways.
