"Mike Babcock said he didn’t learn about allegations against Auston Matthews until last night"
If that's true...there's some issues in that room.

The condo is blanked out yet the victims name isn't. Based on what she said...he's an entitled jerk.

Sloppy and unorganized at times typical of a season opener.
Rookie wise I thought Mikheyev, Timashov and Sandin had good solid games.
In the 9 minutes Sandin played he seemed very calm , poised and confident with the puck. I think this guy is going to be a dandy.
Tyson Barrie had a great debut and that spin move to set up Mikheyev was slick. I also like his willingness to take hits to make plays and get the puck out. Hes offensive and plays a risk / reward type of game hopefully the rewards out weigh the risks in the long run.
Matthews was flying all night and continues to enjoy season openers.
Marners no look pass to set up Matthews second goal was sweet.
Tavares was the perfect choice for the C and glad to finally see that topic put to bed.

So far Toronto looks like they made the wrong move keeping Dubas and letting Lamorellio go, The Islanders have outplayed Toronto for the last 2 years despite Toronto signing their star player. Toronto is still the same run and gun team they were 2 years ago with no structure or defensive plan. They seem to want to win every game 5-4 and it hasn’t worked.
Babcock must be on the hot seat now...

It doesn’t appear he can get guys to buy into his systems and he’s too reluctant to change things up. He’s still trying to force a round peg into a square hole with the way he coaches this team, successful coaches play to their strengths and game plan around it. Not try to force a team to play their system when it obviously isn’t a fit.

Not try to force a team to play their system when it obviously isn’t a fit. Babcock coaches out of spite it would appear after seeing him in action for this long. Give him a shitty backup? He's going to roll them HIS way even if it means exposing the backup and therefore throwing points away. Give him 3 amazing centers? He'll roll the lines HIS way making sure that 4th line gets way more minutes then they should on a team where the top 3 guys can easily eat 18-20 mins per night. You keep losing to teams who load up top lines? He's spreading his guys out...thinking long term apparently...because I guess he thinks Boston or Washington haven't done that. It's becoming extremely frustrating listening to his at times juvenile remarks towards the weaker parts of his roster when he was a part of the conversations that led to the lack of depth in order to keep all the higher end talent. Any other coach on the planet would handle the goaltending differently simply based on the back to back logic where he's willing to throw away that 2nd game almost every time in order to put Andersen in the first one. The fact he's still so unwilling to change and adjust to the situation he's in is the most frustrating part of it all to me. We literally drafted an elite goal scoring C and elite playmaking Winger in back to back drafts and those 2 players have played about under 10 games together at 5 on 5 while going into their 4th season.

His 4th line plays roughly the same minutes as most 4th lines do..... the rest of your post is fair but that comment is simply not true and needs correction.. the 4th line guys are all averaging 9-10 minutes per night.... most teams 4th lines do the same

And without looking maybe they did but it feels like he just rolls 4 lines 5 on 5 every night from game 1 right down to 10 mins to go in a game 7. This season the 4th line should play more then last year because without Kadri (and Hyman until last night) the depth isn't quite the same. Kerfoot has been a bit of a disappointment for me...that trade in general is looking pretty bad because Babcock has no plans on playing Barrie on PP1 which makes one wonder why the trade was made in the first place. If the PP is on fire with Rielly and 4 forwards...I get it. But it hasn't been. So why hasn't Barrie seen an increased role in that area? I'm not going to be right on all my comments but how he deploys his team and then defends it is enough reason for Dubas to fire him almost by itself. Especially if the results aren't there.

In theory if you have those 3 guys down the middle, depending on how special teams is going, your 4th line C really only needs to be playing like 5 minutes a night at most.
