Red Sox Stats @redsoxstats I don't know why it's so hard for anyone to understand or say. The Sox offered Betts a ton of money, what they thought he was worth, and he said no. Him leaving as a FA was an unacceptable outcome & seemed likely. If they got a good deal, they'd take it. Price was opportunistic. If he really wanted to stay in Boston ...he would have took their offer .....rumoured to be 300 mil over 10 years....obviously he wanted out . That's what I said. They moved him because he didn't want to negotiate and was a Fa in a year.

That’s part of the reason he rejected the Red Sox offer, he knows how “important” a player like him getting a huge number is for the other guys and wants to try and push it as high as possible. If the Red Sox offer him the most money, he will be back.

Myers wouldn't be a bad addition to play 1B and OF with a RH bat, SD is apparently willing to add to move the contract.

Well the season started with a 13 run bang then they fizzled out in the next two games. That's to be expected when the ones running the team prioritize money over a good product.

RS have spent boatloads of money over the last 20 years and won multiple WS, not sure where you get that. They will struggle this year in large part because Sale is out(Tommy John) as well ERod(Covid), those are their top 2 starters. Not sure how that is ownership's fault. The Fram system is not what it was 5 or 6 years ago because they traded for guys like Sale to go win.

Terrible pitching staff but this year is a write off anyhow I'm half hoping that the season doesn't get finished.

certainly doesn't look like a great deal hate seeing the Red Sox being operated like a have not franchise He became a weak spot in the lineup ... and easy out. I think he needs to get his head straight and he is better off doing that away from the microscope of Boston.
