Strange move by Ottawa...no QO for Duclair after 23G in 66 games.

Stastny headed to Winnipeg apparently. 2nd C for them though he wasn't great last year.
LV gets under the cap but they would need 6-7M more to sign Peter Angelo.

Anybody wonder why guys like Eric Gudbrannson and Anthony Duclair seem to bounce around from Team to Team ? They both seem to be real good players . I know Ottawa claimed to have offered Duclair a raise but he turned it down ....so either he feels undervalued and was not interested in giving the Home Team a Discount ...the term wasn't long enough ....he doesn't really care for playing and living in Ottawa or he simply puts money as Prioriity One .....he might get Big Money .....But he might not . I personally think a defenceman like Gudbransson is a Huge Plus for Ottawa ....a Big Tough Guy who will allow Chabot and Brannstrom to play a little looser ...knowing he is on the Back End with them .

Gudbranson bounces around because he quite frankly isn’t that good and is way overpaid... if he had a more reasonable cap hit, I think more teams would keep him. Duclair I think bounces around because he’s inconsistent. He can never string any success together for any amount of time with a team, he’s a guy I think you can get good value out of some seasons but not someone you’d ever pay long-term/big money because he hasn’t shown he can do it consistently.

Duclair has a bad reputation, he wears out his welcome quickly. I think he will get paid somewhere but not huge money...2-3 years at 4+M. He is dangerous with the puck but useless without it, a lot of coaches won't tolerate that. Gudbranson is useful but only in a 3rd pair role, he was making too much $$$, that's likely why he was dumped. Melnyk likes him because his AAV is 4M and he only makes 3M.

Duclair apparently chose to represent himself .... he’s gonna see what’s out there but I wouldn’t be surprised if he winds up coming back around to Ottawa unless a team is desperate and overpays
GudBranson is a dinosaur he would be far more valuable in the clutch and grab era

Vegas has reportedly traded Paul Stastny to the Winnipeg Jets in exchange for Carl Dahlstrom and a 2022 fourth-round pick. That's not much of a return, but the Golden Knights' goal here would be to simply rid themselves of his $6.5 million cap hit. Stastny had 17 goals and 38 points in 71 contests. This is still pending a trade call, so nothing is official yet.

One year 8 mil Taylor Hall to buffalo Never saw that coming Apparently nobody in the Hockey World did .........mainly because he said "A Chance to Win was his #1 Priority"....apparently $$$$$$ was pretyy important also ....the thinking must be.... play with Eichel ...have a Huge Season ....then cash in ...knowing that Buffalo has no choice but to keep Eichel Happy .
