Think about scouting. Surely there will be cuts in scouting and more sharing of resources (videos).
Not every team has eyes everywhere. You cant really come and go into the Atlantic bubble this year without long quarantine. And it may be a challenge to scout as thorough as before. But teams will probably feel pinched in that dept. Especially with revenue down they may just do with less people and more virtual scouting.

This is going to be the week of the cap dump, TB needs to shed 10M to keep their RFA's, Chicago also(assimung they spend 5M on a goalie) and NYI needs about 5M to keep theirs.
I was thinking Ladd or Boychuk buyouts but they barely save anything doing that due to crazy bonus structures.

Bergevin might be dangling his 1st rounder for an impact player to a team that is cap or cash strapped ... I think the draft order is going to be Lafreniere to the Rangers (unless they shock the world and trade #1 to Buffalo for Eichel); Byfield to the Kings, Stutzle #3 to the Sens, Drysdale #4 to the Wings, and Askarov #5 to the Sens (with the depth of young players they have in their system, plus another first and multiple seconds still to come in this year's draft, I think they can take a chance to swing for the fence on the top goalie prospect to come along in some time).

I don't think the 1st moves. They can get a better prospect at 16(deep draft at forward) than the player they can get via trade. They can probably get a decent mid lineup winger with size on the cheap with a bunch of teams trying to shed salaries...NYI TB Chicago. I was thinking something like Saad(1M retained) 2021 2nd rounder for Verbeek 2021 6th rounder I think Askarov goes top 10-12 but top 5 would be too soon IMO, goalies are hard to predict. Getting a Pefetti is a pretty safe bet, he profiles similar to Marner. I think Buffalo would be nuts to trade Eichel for Lafreniere, they don't have 2 or 3 years to wait, plus Eichel is a C and would leave them very thin at the position. I don't see NYR trading enough to get him away from Buffalo.

Chicago freed up almost 4 mil earlier this week by trading Maata for an EChl “prospect”
Don’t see the 16th pick landing an impact player unless it’s part of a package deal
Can’t see too many trades tonight but hope I’m wrong

The trades right now will be NYI Chi or TB dumping salary to get under the cap and sign their RFA's or UFA's.
