Bergevin connected to this or was he just a Roving Scout back then ? Appears to be the only one who may have actually been truthful about what he knew and when.

1 thing you learn after things like this come out is how full of shit people are willing to be when they think the truth may never come out. Many of these people blatantly lied about their involvement in this over the last few months. All should resign with nothing but shame. Disgusting what they not only let happen but fucking defended and swept under the rug based on the time of year....as if we're supposed to believe that if this happened in November they would have actually done anything about it. The player that chased the guy around the ice in camp calling him out for being assaulted by the coach should be suspended or divulged at least... www.nydolls.org/news/hockey/comments/qgd79e/stephens_according_to_the_report_john_doe/

Sounds like Bergevin was a relatively junior member of the management team at the time who spent much of his time away from Chicago overseeing player development of prospects - so not a stretch to believe he would have had no involvement with something of this nature ... this type of accusation would likely be kept to senior management and direct supervisors of the accused.

Especially that time of year where all those people are together 24/7 and always meeting/talking/working on their opponent or whatever situation the team has re: injuries at playoff time. It makes perfect sense who was in the meetings. Why those people decided to lie about it over the years just adds more fuel to the fire. The fact he was able to do it again because of their inaction because of the "we're winning and need to keep winning" mindset and not the "we employ a perv and need to make some changes right fucking now" one that you'd like to think decent people would have when hearing about such an incident.

The "bunker mentality" of sports is bad for rooting out mental health issues, racism and sexual assaults, it encourages witnesses and victims not to come out and cause harm to the team, puts winning above healthy social interactions and healthy mental health. That seems to be shifting, but it's been a very slow and windy road. Ultimately, most of those things harm teams/organizations more in the long term.

I should get a year for burying this.

From what I just watched on Sportsnet .........it looks like Chicago put Winning the Stanley Cup above all else . It "sounds / looks" like Kevin Cheveldayoff and Joel Quenville were in attendance at a meeting where it all came out in the open what had been going on . Can the NHL do anything ? or do the Respective Owners of Winnipeg and Florida have to act on this themselves ? The MLB investigation into Houston is a precedent to follow. Cora was suspended one year even though he was employed by the Redsox by then.

John Doe will be revealing his identity on TSN within the hour I believe. It’s fairly obvious to anyone who’s read the report who it is and it takes a lot of courage to come forward but I hope this isn’t because the players all but been exposed anyways.

Tough to see Kyle Beach come forward and say that part of the reason he’s chosen to come forward is because it’s been exposed in the report and people have figured out that it’s him.

Tough to see Kyle Beach come forward and say that part of the reason he’s chosen to come forward is because it’s been exposed in the report and people have figured out that it’s him. Tougher part is reading his suffering and guilt feelings for not protecting others who were victimized after. He is essentially victimized more than once 1) being a victim 2) feeling he could have done more to get Aldridge out before other victims happened 3) now being victimized by the publicity and re-living everything. This is all on those who try to cover their eyes and hope something goes away. Educational moment we all need because those who knew but didnt act or didnt follow thru to accountability made it worse. Same as with that Joe Paterno football legend who turned a blind eye as Sandusky abused children at Penn State.
