Video Review in the NBA is pretty horrid also , I thought Jack Armstrong was gonna lose it on The Raptors Game . The Refs made the call for a foul but while they were reviewing it , 18,000 Crazy Philly Fans forced them to change the call . Luckily it didn't affect the Final Outcome with The Raptors getting the Win .

I want to add to this whole conversation about Barnes and Suggs. I started this thread back in February and back then I was watching Mock drafts and seeing who were projected too 15 players were. At the time the Raps were around the 12 pick and I don’t think they had the Covid issue yet. Then we’ll we seen how everything played out and where the picks ended up after the lottery. Any ways I watched a lot of the madness tournament and I seen Barnes play every Madnesses game they played because back then he was linked to the Raptors at the 12 spot. I read every report and I thought IMO why would they want a guy who shoots like shit and at that sizes doesn’t rebound? The rebound part was only because the position FS had him playing. They wanted him to stay up top and pass down low. He would basically stay at the top of the key look for the open guy. Never shot or drive. The more and more I watched him the more I didn’t want the raps to pick him. And that was around the 10 to 12 spot. It also needs to be said that was roughly where he was rated until the combine. He did jump big time after that. Suggs however I watch only like 2 times because like I said at the time the Raps were never in a place to get him. At seasons end they were looking at the 7th pick so I never thought Suggs was in play. Now here what I did see from him. There’s nothing to not like. He creates for other player and himself. He’s an okay shooter but what’s there is way easier to work with then what Barnes brings to the table. IMO I seen a lot of Dwyane Wade in Suggs game. There’s no way of proving this but once again IMO if the Raps took Suggs he would have been the ROY. I say that because of the team they have that he would have got to play with. I don’t think he will with Orlando they just don’t have the supporting cast that the Raps do. I’ve also seen all of the Summer league games. Barnes has been allowed to play a bit more down low and shown he can fight for those rebounds which was a huge sore spot for the Raps last year. His defence is by far his strength that needs to be said. As a forward he does look good. In FS he played mostly as the backup guard. He was the 6th man and rookie of the conference but it was mostly because of the defence. To try and sum everything up here IMO I feel Barnes is a project where Suggs is more of a polished project able player. I personally really wanted Suggs because once again IMO I see Suggs as a Raptor being the alpha dog as early as his 2nd season. Like I said I seen a lot of Wade in his game that I could see him becoming a player like D Wade. A side note is Masai has not so secretively been chasing Giannis Antetokounmpo. If you read go back and read some things about Giannis back at draft time there’s some similarities to what was said about Giannis game and Barnes game. I personally can see a path to moulding Barnes into a Giannis 2.0 but it’s going to take time, like maybe his 2nd contact. That IMO is the difference. One (Suggs) could be the best player on the team as early as next season. Where as Barnes will be good if he never gets better, but if he gets better and it will take years of work he could be maybe a Giannis 2.0. I think that’s why they took him. The question is can Nick mould him that way? So this take didn't age well.

The question is can Nick mould him that way? So this take didn't age well. Here’s what I will say about my take. Scottie is doing great and is 100% not being used the way he was in college. Which might have cost him in this draft. I listen to the Raptors show with Will Lou recently and they had his FSU coach. The coach even said he told Scottie he is going to play him as a point guard. Scottie wasn’t totally sold on it but the coach ended up finally getting his way. Now if you go look at his college play and stats he is playing the style I was hoping who ever they picked would play. In College he averaged 4.5 rebounds per game. He is doubling that in the NBA. Also he never was aloud below the free throw line in college. He is showing how big of a mistake it was not to play him as a PF. Now I will add he still has a lot of growing to do. His shot is still pretty bad. He’s killing it on the high percentage shots. Also the team it self is really playing school yard ball on the offensive side. Their playing little to no set plays and living and dying on fast break. However the team on the defensive side is absolutely beast. Lastly I like how Scottie is looking but I do think a lot of his game and play is being over blown. I think he good just not as good as being sold. I think it’s a little bit of rose coloured glasses with him. Another thing that I’m will admit too. Part of my wanting Suggs on this team had to do with GTJ. GTJ is playing way better then I expected him to play. I thought Suggs would be a better player in that spot, but GTJ is a beast on defence this year. Him averaging 15ppg and 2 steal per game while shooting 350 from 3 is basically putting him in line for maybe most improved. I’m glad I was wrong about him.

Big news out of Pacer nation today. They’re open for business and have some very interesting names that are available. Here a link to a tweet about it and if you have an Athletic subscription you can read the article
The reason I bring this up here Myles Turner would be a perfect player for the Raptors to go for. He’s a 6’11 Centre that has one more year on his deal at 18mil. I think these two team match up perfectly for a trade too. I know he hasn’t done much and isn’t even with the team anymore but Goran Dragic can be a key piece in the trade here. It’s all about his contract. He makes 19yo look and in the NBA it’s all about matching contracts. Don’t get me wrong here I’m not saying one for one done deal but the money match’s and it expires at the end of the year.
First glance I can see a trade looking something like this.
Myles Turner 18mil Jeremy Lamb 10mil
Goran Dragic 19mil Chris Boucher 7mil Malach Flynn 2mil and 2 more year after this 1st round pick in 2023 If they need to add him in David Johnson too.

He hasn't played a full season yet but if you look at his past seasons he misses on average about 15 games a season. I’m not to worried about that as long as he’s good to play in playoffs. Plus this team needs a big man desperately. He’s a great fit for the Raptors. He’s a rebounder that’s can shoot the 3 well and plays strong defence.

Congrats to Barnes on winning Rookie of the Year. I guess we know why they picked him ahead of guys more highly touted.

I may be in the minority, but I really belive that we will see Durant in a Raptors jersey the same way we saw Leonard in a Raptors Jersey.
I'm not saying I'm a fan of Durant....but he likes Toronto....and I think he will feel that he can win in Toronto in a year...or two.

He is a Big Sook . Like Dr J said , how many times has he used the System to Chase Rings ? Didn't want to play second fiddle to Westbrook in OKC , left and jumped in Bed with the Champions .Didn't like Draymond Green so he Got together with Kyrie Irving( 2nd biggest baby ) and the Biggest of all the Babies ....James Harden to form a Big 3 / Super Team then didn't like that so he forced a Trade to Phoenix ....deemed Chris Paul and Deandre Ayton to be not the fit , he wanted Bradley Beal who is a helluva player but can't seem to stay healthy . With this Guy's Track Record he will find some other place more attractive but lets hope it's not Toronto .

This window has closed for the Raptors. They're a pretty average team. Its not a guy like Durant they'll be after when the time comes, it will be younger guys in their prime like Leonard was.
