I would be willing to bet that a lot more Canadians have been hurt by the 7.37% decrease in the TSX over the past year, the inflation caused by Trudeau's economic policies and resulting increase in mortgage rates than the number of Canadians who bought Bitcoin based on what PP said. I didn't realize Trudeau was that powerful to create inflation throughout the world... tradingeconomics.com/country-list/inflation-rateHis work in Turkey and Argentina has been devastating. ~eye roll~

At least one federal leader, PP, is calling on this list of names to be exposed even though at least one of them is a Conservative- my guess is that it is 10 Liberals and 1 Conservative. I want the Conservative exposed so they can be tossed out as they are a traitor to this country.
In the last election China targetted ridings with large Chinese populations with anti-Conservative messages and this won approximately 10 seats.
Now if we ever find out the names and there were more than one Conservative I'll gladly stand corrected but the fact that Trudeau is so far refusing to name names means there is no benefit for him to do so which logically means it is 10 Liberals and 1 Conservative- they should all be names and face charges for taking money from a foreign nation.

1) Argentina- a country that has had persistent bouts of inflation off and on for decades.
2) Turkey- a cautionary tale as Erdogan has mismanaged monetary policy driving its current account out of whack which lowers its currency and drives up inflation within Turkey- that country would have high inflation regardless of what else is going on in the world.
Western leaders all followed the same script during Covid, they overspent and denied that this was going to cause inflation and now that it is here and not transitory like they and their central bank leaders said it was in 2021 most are saying well it worse off in other countries in an effort to give them cover.
Living here in Nova Scotia inflation is only going to get worse because Nova Scotians are soon going to have to pay the carbon tax despite our provincial government putting through an alternative which got thrown in the garbage can.
I could care less if inflation is higher in other G7-G20 countries, it is substantially higher than what it should be. If Harper had inflation like this the Liberals and the media would have been all over them for it and rightfully so, Trudeau and Freeland own this.

...and Turkey is led by a right wing nut. Post Covid inflation has a lot to do with people not being able to travel or undertake certain projects during Covid and doing it now, with a bunch or corporate greed added in. Especially oil companies. Had governments not given people money to live during the shutdowns, at least 25% of workers would Have ended up living on the street not being able to afford food or rent. It wasn't a hand out, it was a necessity.

Conor Rogers @conorjrogers I don’t think Republican brass have come to terms with how fucked they are for 2024.
If they nominate Trump, they have to contend with his soaring unpopularity and his 2020 conspiracies.
If they don’t, he’ll sabotage the nominee and try to keep himself in the news daily.

I think Trump will run. The question is if he's the Republican nominee or a third party nominee. Either way, as long as the Dems don't screw this up, there won't be a Republican president. Republicans need to go back to what brought them success in the past and move away from the extremism that MAGA brings.

The problem is, Trump has 25-30% of Americans convinced that only HE tells them the truth and to ignore all else. Faux News also helped create the monster by not fact checking any of it and going along, lining Rupert Murdoch's pockets.

Faux News also helped create the monster by not fact checking any of it and going along, lining Rupert Murdoch's pockets. Now that a large % of population (in USA & Canada both) always question the validity of their institutions: electoral process, the media, any politician, any corporate leader, etc, we have reached a stage where lack of trust drives the conversation. If so many people believe everyone is lying to them and pulling the wool over their eyes I dont see how you reverse that. How transparent do you have to be to make someone believe the real truth? Conspiracy theories have always been around, but the Trump years have expanded that into doubting what any scientist says. To not trust any judge because they can all be biased. And why believe any politician or big corporate CEO. Average people see costs go up and all can find examples of politicians that did opposite of what they promised and think they are being played by status quo. There isn't a way to salvage this trust. Trump may get sidelined but the damage is done. Another will take his place and too many people will get sucked in.

I think we should all pause for a moment and give thanks that Biden is not GM of our favourite sports team ... Griner coming home in exchange for Viktor Bout is a ridiculously lopsided trade ... an arms delaer for someone caught with pot in their luggage ... yikes!

Trump may get sidelined but the damage is done. Another will take his place and too many people will get sucked in. I think it's only about 25-30% that don't believe in basic institutions in the US...unfortunately, some of that is coming into Canada. It's a lot harder to prove facts when people deny basic truths. It would be hard to have a conversation with somebody if you can't agree that it's sunny or raining on a particular day. I think Faux News deserves part of the blame there, they are supposedly a "news" network yet they entertain these nutty conspiracies where you can't trust what your own eyes or ears tell you.

They were getting far more pressure to bring Britney Griner home than they should have, and they caved to it.
