Honestly I understand every thing you guys are saying but now I find myself looking forward tuning into watch more Baseball then in a very Long Time ...........and it's all The Blue Jays Fault . The Struggles the Franchise had during the Pandemic , moving from Dunedin to Buffalo then finally getting back Home to Toronto , The Young Kids who never whined , Hell the Whole Lineup , I find Must Watch TV . I grew up a Yankees Fan .....But these Young Jays have rekindled my Love for the Game of Baseball . I love watching them and I am already looking forward to Free Agency , Spring Training and Opening Day .........and it's all The Blue Jays Fault ! I like watching the RS and my fantasy team players. That being said I usually flip between channels a lot as well.

This might sound Silly but , all that time at home when Covid Shut us Down .....every day hearing about Donald Trump this and Donald Trump that and watching their Nation divide itself in two and constantly attacking everybody and everything ..........I don't look at the United States the way I used too . I am trying to be honest about it , that's all . Sports and Politics are two very separate things ....and I know this ........"BUT" ....I find myself asking about Cheering for American Teams when I have Canadian Options.

it's ridiculous the time it takes to play a game of major league baseball it's a huge reason why i don't follow it like i once did... and why my son and his friends have such little interest in the sport..... whereas when i was their age i was hardcore as were most my friends... i could name the starting rotation and starters on pretty much any team in the league..... nowadays i don't even know more than half the players on the one team i do follow (when they're good) anyways When I was a kid (60s and 70s), most world series games were afternoon games, or at least started late afternoon. In 2018 I was in Vancouver for a conference when the WS was being played, with my Redsox and the Dodgers. I watched the Redsox win from my hotel room, and I think it was about 8:00 PM in Vancouver when it ended. I didn't know what to do with myself with the game over so early so I went down to the hotel bar for a celebratory beer. If you are a sports fan, the best place to be is on the west coast. You roll out of bed on a Sunday and football starts at 10:00 AM. You can watch an entire baseball/Hockey game without it affecting you getting a full nights sleep. It took me three nights to get caught up on my sleep from the late nights with the ALCS last week.

The United States has been divided for 250 years. The Trump obsession is just that...an obsession. They have the same issues today they did before he was in office. And will continue having the same issues as they elect fascists and extremists into every level of their political process. But the falsehood is thinking this is something new and current. Give me a good game. Dont care what cities the teams are from. The NHL is a global game with players from all over but leaving the politics out of it is usually the best way to enjoy it in my opinion. With Cherry off the air we're finally going to start losing the stereotypes that only Canadians work hard and want to win.

Honestly i wouldn't care if the games started at 9 am ..... i simply have no interest in watchingt 9 innings take 4 plus hours while teams use 5-6 different pitchers
but that's just me

Honestly i wouldn't care if the games started at 9 am ..... i simply have no interest in watchingt 9 innings take 4 plus hours while teams use 5-6 different pitchers but that's just me 15 second pitch clock they used in A ball reduced their games by over 20 mins. Would likely be even more dramatic in the majors given that games have increased by 20 minutes over the last 10+ years. Imagine the impact that would have on a playoff game where you gotta watch batters or pitchers take their sweet fucking time in between every pitch. Wish they'd just start implementing these things in the majors and hurry up. It's not like they don't have data that ratings are declining. A game starting at 9 and ending at 11:30 would be totally fine.

Honestly i wouldn't care if the games started at 9 am ..... i simply have no interest in watchingt 9 innings take 4 plus hours while teams use 5-6 different pitchers but that's just me I had no problem watching the slow and drawn out ALCS because I had a team to cheer for ... I think I watched every inning of the Redsox post-season. But I can't watch a full game between Houston and Atlanta because I don't care for either team. I might watch a full game once one team has 3 wins ... but so far I have watched 2 innings of each game and then went to bed. But thats the same with the Stanley Cup playoffs ... I don't normally watch until the Cup is in the building (somebody has 3 wins). Last season I watched because my Habs were in it, but there were a few games I shut off before the end because of the score. I have never missed the Stanley Cup being presented in all of my years. But I'm probably different than most. I prefer baseball to hockey and probably watch 100 Redsox games in a season. on the MLB app. I lost interest in the NHL game several years ago.

Jump out to a 4--0 lead in the first then lose .....tough to take . Houston just kept picking away , mainly with Small Ball . Heading back to Houston for Games 6 and 7 . The Biggest thing that is so apparent is this ...Is Basebal so short on Quality Starting Pitchers as a Whole that The Bullpens are more Important then the Starting staff in Todays Game ? Or is this the result of Analytics driving every decision being made in the Game Today ?

Or is this the result of Analytics driving every decision being made in the Game Today ? Injuries play a factor. Add Morton and Fried into that rotation and the bullpen isn't needed to do as much. But overall analytics has way more to do with it. 20 years ago Andy Pettite, Roger Clemens, or Curt Schilling are not coming out in the 5th with a no hitter. Now its get 4-5 innings from your starter and use 4-6 relievers the rest of the way.

It seems like all of baseball is finally gotten sharp, and using analytics to their full potential. Each team is squeezing every last drop out of the numbers to gain as much edge as possible.
With that said, the length of a baseball games are increasing as well steadily over the past several seasons. Long gone are the days of Roy Halliday super efficiency pitching complete game no-hitters with 90 pitches thrown and the game taking less than 2 hours. Playoff games are now averaging 3:37 minutes and 8 times this post season a 9 inning game went over 4 hours.
The 3 batter minimum was added to speed up the game, but with bullpens being utilized earlier in the game/more frequently (sometimes as openers) this really hasn't reduced game time all that much. As a die hard baseball fan, one of the beautiful things about the game is that their is no clock, you play until the game is complete. However, I think the length at which games are now taking, its really hurting the sport, especially with attention spans getting shorter as well.
I hate rule changes, replay added, neighborhood rule gone, blocking home gone, etc. but I think the game needs a major change to speed up the game. Is there a way to speed up the game without ruining it? I don't think a pitch clock makes any sense, atleast not when there are runners on base. As hard as it would be on bullpen arms to for rhythm, having a set amount of time to get on the mound and be ready to face a batter could work?
I think something has to change sooner than later.

Games definitely need to speed up. The scary part is that it's trending in the opposite direction as previously mentioned so something needs to be done to nip that in the but.
People blame the pitchers but most batters still leave the batters box after every pitch. Some have a 5-10 second routine they NEED to do. It doesn't seem like much but that adds up when you get 70-80 batters in a game.
Pitchers take their time because it's a stamina thing so they probably won't speed up on their own without a rule change.
