Games definitely need to speed up. The scary part is that it's trending in the opposite direction as previously mentioned so something needs to be done to nip that in the but. People blame the pitchers but most batters still leave the batters box after every pitch. Some have a 5-10 second routine they NEED to do. It doesn't seem like much but that adds up when you get 70-80 batters in a game. Pitchers take their time because it's a stamina thing so they probably won't speed up on their own without a rule change. Yup. 20 years ago, Nomar Garciaparra (best example that came to mind) was an exception, now he would be just a regular guy at the plate.

Jump out to a 4--0 lead in the first then lose .....tough to take . Houston just kept picking away , mainly with Small Ball . Heading back to Houston for Games 6 and 7 . The Biggest thing that is so apparent is this ...Is Basebal so short on Quality Starting Pitchers as a Whole that The Bullpens are more Important then the Starting staff in Todays Game ? Or is this the result of Analytics driving every decision being made in the Game Today ? Atlanta may have blown the series in the 5th, bases loaded walk to Maldonado then 2 sun single to Marwin freaking Gonzalez.

The 7 run ninth against the Redsox in the ALCS Game 4 (?) was also the turning point and the Redsox couldn't turn the tide after that.

It may be that first inning where Fried pitched out of that jam that stole the momentum back.

I think so, had Houston scored 3-4 runs early in the game, we may have had a game 7 tonight. Once Atlanta got to the 7th with a big lead, Houston wasn't scoring 6 or 7 vs Smith Jackson and Matzek.
