Jon Heyman is reporting ...........Max Scherzer to the Mets ........3 years-130 million ........WOW ! Pretty crazy money, especially at 38 but he hasn't slowed much. I think part of that is changing the culture from what I read, ownership/management was not very happy with players "booing the fans" last year, it created quite an uproar.

Seager to the Rangers 10 years 325 Million ............Semien is a 2nd Baseman for the rest of his career but at 25 mil a year I am sure he will get over it .

Seager seems to spend half his time injured ... not in love with that contract. He is an awesome player when healthy, but that is a lot of dollars and term. Without doing any research to back my opinion, it would seem that injury prone players rarely get healthier as they age ... could he be the next Troy Tulowitzki?

VERY few MLB players can be close to what they were in their prime at 35-36-37-38 etc. Those 10 year deals for guys in their late 20's never work out, at least TB signed Franco through his prime years.

If you sign a guy in his late 20's to a 10 year deal, you are basically betting on him being a first ballot Hall of Famer, that is pretty much the only way you are going to get value for your investment.

LOCKOUT is in Place .............My Guess is that this will get real dirty . These Sides really do not like each other . Remember how long it took to agree on a 60 Day Covid Season ? Two things for sure the Fans are low on their priority list and Forget about ever seeing a Salary Cap .
* Over / Under on how Long before someone calls this a............STRIKE ?

The revenue gap between large and small markets is too big to have a salary cap in MLB. You have teams like LA and NYY making more from TV deals than the whole revenue stream for Pittsburgh TB Oakland KC and other small markets.

Than plan never made any sense, plus they wanted both cities to build stadiums for 40 MLB games. I think Montreal's best chance is if Oakland or TB don't get new stadiums done to move a team.

MLB had some nice momentum going and once again found away to shoot themselves in the foot ... They shot themselves in the other foot by banning Pete Rose from the Hall of Fame! What was that Commissioner's name that made that ruling - always reminded me of Paw Rugg?
