So the opposite to that is punishing a team that had a long term injury and replaced the player with someone who cant play when the player comes back. This is why the league is content to just do nothing. They'd rather just continue the status quo and not care about someone getting healthy and playing again and pushing a roster over the seasons cap limit because its no money out of their pocket. But with the setup in place a solution is there to implement that is much fairer than playing $10 million over the cap in my opinion. The league probably can't do anything as this stuff is part of the CBA, I think something happens next CBA. I think there is an easy way to do it without punishing teas that add at the TDL. I see it as an easy win in negotiations if they want to do it...the players wouldn't really be losing much so doubt there's any push back.

www.sportsnet.ca/article/canadiens-hopeful-shane-wright-ready-to-make-a-difference-in-nhl-right-away/Shane Wright has a strong belief in when and where he should be drafted next month. And “it would mean the world” to him to be drafted first overall to the Montreal Canadiens. The season is over, the combine results have been tallied, and all the interviews are complete. The ink on the résumé has dried. “It’s out of my control now. What my opinion is — or what I say, or what I think — doesn’t matter at this point,” Wright said. “It’s in the hands of Montreal and their management. I obviously would like to be the first-overall pick, but at the end of the day, it’s not my decision.” The Kingston Frontenacs star raves about his recent dinner with Canadiens rookie GM Kent Hughes and his brass. “I really love what they’re all about, what they were saying about the city and describing the organization and describing where they want to go in the future and them wanting to build a winning franchise,” Wright says. “I obviously want to be a part of that and just really enjoyed how it went overall.” At age 18, are you prepared to dress in your NHL team’s 2022-23 opening night lineup? “I think I am. I really do. Just based off watching out there, it’s fast. It’s going to be an adjustment at the start. The biggest thing is going to be the speed and just kind of learning the league,” Wright says. “But I think with a lot of work this offseason, and with a lot of training and developing in training camp, and learning a lot from the coaches and other players, I think I can step in to really make a difference. And that’s where I want to be. That’s where I see myself, and I think that’s the goal I set for myself for next year.”

He seems to have Kemell and Snuggerud much higher than most, and seems really low on Savoie, Geekie, and Lambert ... be interesting to see down the road if he is right.

LOL - I am not his biggest fan either ... and I am inclined to think that there is a good reason why he is TSN's chief scout and not employed by an actual team ... but in fairness, in any given year, I am sure he is right on some guys and wrong on others ... it is the nature of the gig. Is his track record better or worse than the rest? I honestly have no idea ...

It's not a prediction though, it's HIS rankings. Bob McKenzie's list is a scout's consensus so it more accurately reflects teams valuating players.

Who will MSL use as a Dman coach now? Ideally a guy with a long NHL career as an NHL d-man who can teach young d the intricacies and give them tough love at times.

Bouillon could be an option from Laval, he always got a lot out of his abilities.
