Starts today with the Home Country of Qatar playing their first match against Equador . So who does everyone see winning the Biggest Prize in World Soccer . A lot of people are leaning towards Brazil , France , Argentina and Spain but my gut is telling me that this just might be England's time .

Obviously cheering on Canada, but I'd be happy with an England win with them having 3 United players on the team. Should be a fun tournament, I'm excited to finally watch my home country in it.

Realistically with a healthy lineup, what are Canada's chances of making it out of the group stage. Assuming they lose to Belgium, do they have a shot against either or both of Morocco & Croatia? I figure they should lose to Croatia but they have an outside chance, and they have a decent chance against Morocco. But I'm not up on soccer much. I answered my own question I had on tie-breakers. Group stage tie-breakers are below: dknation.draftkings.com/2022/11/20/23459280/world-cup-2022-group-stage-tiebreakers-rules-goal-differential-head-to-head-points-standingsThe first tiebreaker is the goal differential in all of the group matches, which is simply the total number of goals scored minus goals surrendered. The next tiebreaker is the greatest number of goals scored in all group matches between the tied teams.
If the teams are still tied up to this point, then the next tiebreaker is identifying the points obtained in group games between the teams involved. If one side in a two-way tie won the match against the other then it moves on. If three teams are still tied at this stage, the highest point total in games between the teams involved gets the nod.
If the aforementioned teams are still tied at this point, then the goal difference from games involving the teams concerned and the number of goals scored in games between teams concerned are factored in. Historically, this tiebreaker comes into play if there are three teams in the mix to move onto the knockout stage.
If teams still remain tied at this point, then their disciplinary records in the tournament are factored in. A yellow card takes one point off your total points, an indirect red (the result of being shown a second yellow card) is three points off, a straight red is four points off, and a yellow and a direct red card is worth five points off your total. The team with the highest total points remaining is the one that advances.
If the impossible is achieved and the teams are still tied up to this point, then the drawing of lots becomes the final tiebreaker. The teams still in consideration have their names printed out and drawn from a bowl, similar to the group stage draw. Whichever team is drawn out is given the top spot out of the tiebreaker, while the other is likely eliminated from the group stage.

has anyone scored a goal yet? Ecuador beat Qatar 2-0, and currently England is beating Iran 1-0. As for Canada's chances, they're pretty good. Morocco and Croatia will be tough but they're beatable, and Belgium won't have their best player Lukaku for the game against Canada where we will have Davies back in the lineup. It won't be easy though, but there's really no quit in the Canadian team. They'll probably be a pain in the ass to play against (Like a Hulton coached squad). Also FIFA can't screw right off with this garbage. Religion shouldn't be above basic human rights.

Had they just worn the armbands unchallenged it would have only been mentioned briefly by the media. Now it dominates the landscape for the first week of the tournament, increasing awareness for why these things are needed in the first place. It's the same for pride event nights when you have the vocal minority screaming about them it just solidifies that while we've made progress as a society we still have a long way to go.

has anyone scored a goal yet? Make it 6-1 for England, this is rather shocking given Iran's high hopes for the tournament. 24 total added minutes in the England/Iran game, 14 for the first half and 10 for the second. I've never seen that much before.

I never played Soccer after High School but still love the High Calibre Soccer that England , Germany , Spain , Italy and French Leagues offer . Unfortunately it is even worse then Baseball when it comes to the Money they spend and the difference between what Manchester United spend compared to say Nottingham Forrest is comparable to say what the Dodgers spend compared to say the Athletics . Now in my later years I love to "play" Golf but can't watch it on TV unless it's a Major Event and only then maybe the last 3 or 4 Holes .

the game itself is so fundamentally flawed
imagine wasting your entire day/evening watching a game where half the players never do a single thing.... and none of the players even know when the game is over
not to mention the corruptness behind the sport itself
as for going to watch one live... nope i'd rather not get bombed to be bombed
