Early insight on round 2 through Fridays games. One "upset" in each league so far. Saskatoon, North Bay & Halifax lose game ones at home.
Saskatoon coming off 7 games could be expected to as their series is a toss up anyway and may also go 7. North Bay has now lost 2 home games in these playoffs and Saskatoon has lost 3 at home.
Sweeping teams - so far unblemished in CHL playoffs the list includes - Quebec, Sherbrooke, London (6-0), Seattle, Kamloops, & Winnipeg. 25% of teams left.

Looks like "first half Kitchener" has decided to show up for the series against London so far. Yikes.
They get Pinelli back for Game 3 so we'll see how that changes the water on the beans.

Saw that they did seem to play better though the last half of game 2 - we will see what Kitchener does at home in games 3/4. Give London credit. They swept Owen Sound and were ready for Kitchener. Last year the Knights were bounced by the Rangers in round 1. The Ryan Winterton addition to London may be the biggest move made to improve them. That experience is big. He was a big part of Hamilton last year and looks like he still is above ppg playoff scoring.

Big four in the Q won last night by a combined score of 25-3 and a combined shot total of 171-62.
I really thought Rouyn-Noranda would put up more of a fight against Gatineau. But they have a lot of key injuries and Gatineau is healthy. Never expected the Huskies to win the series but it looks like a 1st round contender vs rebuilder match up right now.
Sherbrooke is performing as expected against Drummondville. They've looked the most consistent in the playoffs so far. Rimouski is gave Quebec a decent couple games but the goals are going in for the Remparts.
Halifax had a hiccup Friday night... probably played similarly to how Gatineau played in game 3 against Saint John and Moncton made them pay for it. Halifax looked much better last night. Probably their best complete effort of the playoffs so far.

Sunday April 16 preview
No Q games until Tuesday
OHL plays today - all series including game 3 London-Kitchener
WHL only Red Deer/Saskatoon game 2
* Note Winnipeg suffered first loss of playoffs last night against Moose Jaw. Spotted a 4 goal lead in first - Moose Jaw took advantage of a 5 min major penalty call in penalty filled start. So MJ takes over home ice advantage in that series.
