I know they're flying but I was picturing what a car/bus trip from Winnipeg to Seattle would look like compared to the Q's longest trip. Actually not as much of a difference as I though there would be.
Winnipeg to Seattle by car: 23 hours 13 minutes
Sydney to Rouyn-Noranda by car: 21 hours 23 minutes

That needs to be added in there too.

After that Rouyn-Noranda Halifax game in 2019 where Halifax could get a bye to the final if they lost 4-3 but not if they lost 5-4, I remember discussing the merits of the 3 point win system. The math was done and I don't think it mattered much in terms of fairness. Those types of tie-breakers come up so infrequently. That situation in 2019 was just a perfect storm with perfect goal-differentials to create chaos.

The math was done and I don't think it mattered much in terms of fairness. Those types of tie-breakers come up so infrequently. That situation in 2019 was just a perfect storm with perfect goal-differentials to create chaos. They just want to do anything to avoid a tiebreaker game. And long OTs. That's why the 3 on 3 OT forever in round robin games. Actually by doing that they already penalize the most stout defensive teams. If a team that wins low scoring games gets to OT against a skill explosive team and it becomes 3 on 3 it always favours that offensive team. Since 3 on 3 is about scoring not stopping. The more points in play 3 2 1 or 0 system did make it harder to get a tiebreaker game. Which they used to have almost every year which hurt the winner who had to play semi-final next day. They finally have it so the 2nd place team gets a day off (or more) before the Friday semi-final. The 1st place team has 4 or 5 days off from last regulation game to the Final on Sunday. They want good hockey and the best way is to not have games go forever. Trade offs for the better good.

56,820 fans so far through four games of the Q finals. Quebec will have 18,259 on Friday night. That puts it at 75,079 through five games, which would break the Q record for total fans in a playoff series set in 2012. These are amazing junior hockey numbers even for big cities. Quebec City has really rallied behind their team. Halifax did well for weeknight games starting at 8pm local time.

not sure if this was answered before or not but when was the last time a team that finished below 40 wins in the regular season won the league championship?
Peterborough had 35 wins and only a 0.544 percentage (I know they loaded up at the deadline) and are 1 win away from winning the trophy...Pretty crazy when you think about it.

crazy that they're the 10th seed overall in their league as well and made it this far.

If Peterborough can say they beat Ottawa, North Bay & London without home ice advantage in any series to make it to the Memorial Cup they have a shot at winning it all.
And they swept Sudbury fwiw in round 1.
These are all best of 7 series so good the teams they beat saw it coming. No gotcha moments. A slow bleed death for Ottawa & North Bay (who beat a really good Barrie teams too that would have tested the Petes if they got the chance).
