I don’t think there’s anything wrong with Reinbacher but I really think teams will regret passing on Michkov. I personally think he’s the #2 prospect in the draft with the most upside outside of Bedard.
Sure you have to wait on him for 3 years but in 3 years when he drops into the NHL as a star on an ELC, you’ve got a steal on your hands. This kid is phenomenal and I don’t think Montreal will get many more chances to add a player of his caliber to the roster.

Right shot Dman, David Reinbacher.
"His game rests on a projectable, rock solid defensive foundation. As opponents attack through the neutral zone, he gaps up early, builds speed going backward to match that of the puck carrier, takes away the middle of the ice with his stick, and closes with force once he’s registered support."

Yeah, not a big fan of the pick, now they will rush him to the NHL at 18 like their other early picks. This will be York-Caufield take II but reversed.

I am not going to get too worked up about it ... if Reinbacher ends up being the best d-man in the draft, it will be a solid pick. I don't think he plays at 18 ... no room and no need to rush him. Let him play another year in Switzerland, or a year for Laval - which seems to have worked out well for both Simon Nemec and David Jiricek last season. Habs have Matheson-Savard-Edmundson as vets for next year, plus Guhle-Xhekaj-Barron-Harris-Kovacevic as young guys filling the remaining spots. Mailloux in the AHL ... Reinbacher AHL/Europe ... Hutson NCAA ... the blueline seems poised to have a supply of good cost-controlled players in years ahead.

NHL preseason is like bad AHL teams so it's easy for kids to show up and look good and keep them in the NHL. I would be shocked if he isn't in the NHL. Nemec and Jiriced were in NA last year playing AHL, Jiricek got 4 NHL games.

Hopefully the Habs stay quiet during the UFA period...not much there I like, plus the ones that are pretty good likely get too much $$$. If anything they need to move a D, a goalie and a couple forwards, likely after the first couple of UFA waves.

Edmundson to the Caps for a 3rd and a 7th I thought they could get more, but the back injury is no doubt a factor. At least it clears up minutes for Harris and Xhekaj
