I originally voted Halifax in 6 I kind of want to change my vote to Halifax in 5. Halifax has started a trend in these playoffs. Game one of each series has almost been a feeler game. They just seem to let it play out and see what there opponent is going to bring to the table. Maybe not so much against CB but Moncton came out and took game one. Sherbrooke out played Halifax for the first 4 periods and got the 1st goal In over time to go up 2 nothing. After that Halifax just took over and never let their opponents breath. It almost seems like they gave Quebec the first 4 periods once again. Actually I’d say the first 79 minutes.
It’s almost like they flip a switch and are like ok it’s our turn now. I don’t know what, who, or how they do it but they took over game 2 in Quebec and made them look average. To a point the Ramparts actually looked confused and had no clue what happened. To the who, how and what it is part, is it Favreau keeping them in check. Do the have an analytics department that after 4 periods have them figured out and are like do this? For the what part, what is in that mustard? All I know is I think Halifax has something figured out on Quebec and even though they are a great team they might have just met their match.
After saying all that I will say this about Halifax. I do think Phillips is starting to ware down or get slightly tired or however you want to word it. This is probably the most hockey he has ever played. Then add on to that him playing guys 4 years older than him that are bigger stronger and faster than anyone he has played before. He is doing great but there a few shift I go man he needs to skip a shift to get the rest he needs. The problem being is they don’t have 7 defencemen to give him that. Hopefully Moravec is good to go tomorrow night and then they have Whynot too. That would give them the 7 guys just to get some fresher legs once in a while. I thought Whynot looked good in game 2. He was calm back there even when he looked maybe a step behind here and there.

The fact that he played prep hockey last year should make this run a touch easier for him - he already has an 80+ game season under his belt, albeit against his own age group. If you are confident that you will be a regular player in the Q at 16, going south of the border gives you such a leg up in your rookie season. Furlong, Dumais, Lawrence and Phillips are all great examples of this.
