I'd look to move Whynot at the draft. Either for a pick or a player you could slot in your top 9 (prob 3rd line). Whynot was essentially a non factor down the stretch and throughout the playoff. Obviously he was injured, but it proved the team is deep enough and talented enough without him. Seriously, I'd move Furlong at the draft instead - I think he's very overrated. He has this idea always that's there's lots of time to make a play, but he's slow as a skater and also with decision making. All season I've watched fast forwards go around him one on one...

one think i would like to point out that nobody has mentioned that i saw yet tho was L'Heureux...... he calmed himself down all playoffs and was the impact player he was supposed to be until the very end..... did none of you see that slash he laid on Gaucher i think it was? a full baseball swing that if the Rempart player hadnt jumped to avoid best he could would have had a very bad outcome Well, L'Heureux wasn't even sent to the pentaly box, so how bad could it really have been? He was sent to the locker room (even if he stayed close to the bench).

Like I said, he was sent away to the locker room with a penalty to both him and Bolduc but they stayed at their respective teams' bench anyway with only 3 seconds left. 3RD 19:56 #66 Zachary L'Heureux Slashing MINOR 2:00

I don't care if he consoled all his teammates and kissed the ice goodbye.... he went out a sore loser again. L'Heureux ended his QMJHL career the same way he conducted himself during his 4 years. Glimpses of greatness with his talent (scoring what looked like the GWG) but couldn't control his temper and acted like the selfish piece of garbage he is on the ice. He got to experience the biggest high to low you'll ever see in hockey. Good riddance. Listen, I completely get where you guys are coming from and I'm never in a million years going to convince you otherwise but he truly is a great kid and it's been a pleasure to have him here in Halifax. He will always be one of my favourites no matter what opposing fans or even our own fans have to say. Call him a selfish piece of garbage, but he was OUR selfish piece of garbage. Sometimes the villan plays for your team, but you support them in their quest to bring you a championship. Maybe the Islanders or Remparts will have a player of similar ilk next time they are going for it. If you look at the playoffs as a whole, I don't think you can say L'Heureux was a net negative for this hockey team - which is what a lot of our own fans were worried about. Should he have two-handed Bolduc? Absolutely not. Did it have any bearing on our chances of winning? Also no. That's where it starts and ends for me. Save those good riddance wishes for a while longer. I'm sure Zach's got a lot more highs and a lot more lows to experience throughout his hockey career.

First, congrats to the Mooseheads for a hard fought series! They never gave up and made it a real close final since game 2. I really think the best team won but Halifax has nothing to be ashamed of, they showed everybody were wrong about them all season and even in the playoffs. Both Quebec and Halifax defied the odds winning against the two favorites Gatineau and Sherbrooke. Both teams showed resilience. You'll have the best defense-goalie combo in the league next year. I'm quite sure your GM will be able to add depth on offense with some overagers. I read that Quebec was healthier, maybe, but they weren't healthy that's for sure. Nico Savoie couldn't even walk properly after the series against Gatineau. Truchon probably separated his shoulder after Sam Savoie's hit at the end of the semifinal and Komarov is playing through a leg injury. He couldn't even finish games 1 and 5 against Halifax. Gaucher is clearly gassed after all the hockey he played over the past year with the two WJC, the NHL and everything else. He didn't have the same jump he usually has. I'm proud of this team that meant business right from day 1 at camp. I really think losing before winning made them the champions they are today. I wish you the same for next year! Hopefully the Mooseheads can follow the Remparts blueprint for sure. Build a team properly through drafting and developing, and make one or two key additions at the deadline. Learn from a tough finals loss and take that to go all the way next year. Rest up and keep that Memorial Cup streak running for the Q!

We hated Mikael Robidoux acting like that in Quebec, so you won't make me love a player like him. I mean, 1 or 2 instances when your emotions get the best of you and you do something stupid, fine. But he's a dirty piece of garbage, always trying to injure opposing players. He's very talented and he always play with grit, he's a fantastic player when he concentrates on hockey. He didn't need to do these things to be an effective player. You didn't see it in the highlights, but he went for Komarov's hip at least 3 times in game 5 and suceeded injuring him again the 3rd time. He missed the remainder of the game. He also went for Roy's knee in the same game. I'm sure he's a doll off ice with the Moose fans though. Anyway, I didn't want to talk about him after the game. I shouldn't have replied to bois. My bad.

He performed better than most of the Remparts top prospects not named Malatesta. Having said that, please enjoy your trophy and if I were you I would start talking about the Mem Cup, not L'Heureux. I will be cheering for him and hopefully he makes the big league in the next few years.

With clock under 3 minutes misconducts were handed out to the Huskies and their ejected player got to stand at end of bench to not miss the game finish with his team. It was good of the refs in both cases to penalize the guys and not send them to the box or room. It's a judgement call but classy by the officials.

I am sure that you do, I think this threads is pretty positive right now and Mooseheads fans are proud of their team and even proud to have lost against a better team...we had our share of negative discussions with that player over the past 2-3 years (lol) and although he deserved a big part of the negativity, a lot of the discussion was not fair especially after the Gatineau drama...anyways, happy that you let it go...I will never approve what he did, but what a player he is.

Furlong is likely to be one of the best Dman in the league next season... he doesn't exactly play with a pulse but it's the way the game is going. Considering his growth over last 3 seasons & skillset, I would be against dealing him. If he is available you will have lots of suitors.

Final injury report out in Willy Palov's latest article. Most notable is that Biasca fractured his collarbone (but wanted to play through it), Moravec had an elbow injury then got concussed, and Dumais separated his shoulder (and was not anywhere near 100% when he returned).
Cam also makes reference to needing to talk to the trio of 20s and their agents, and that their are "lots of different balls up in the air right now". Nothing insightful that we didn't infer already. Whynot's draft rights expire next week on June 1st so that might be the first indicator on what's to come.
