I was just thinking of a scenario where they do draft one of the better Dman available....and create a package with D capital, picks etc... to land someone via trade to help the team now and in the future....like a Zegras, Necas....a Kent Johnson . And Demidov won't be around when the Habs pick, I'm sure. If that is the case why not just use Reinbacher to initiate the process. One of Demidov, Lindstrom, and Eiserman should be available at the 5th spot. I don't mind Bois's suggestion on seeing what offers are out there to possibly move down.

I don't think they want to trade Reinbacher 1 year after drafting him over Leonard Michkov and Dvorsky.

if the best player available is a dman...... you get creative and trade the pick... trade down add more assets and draft the forward you want Trading up makes more sense IMO. If you want Demidov or Lindstrom, use a 2nd or 1st to trade up and get one of them.

Happy draft lottery day lets hope we win one of them Worst case staying at 5 would still be good, Lindstrom might be there. 6th or 7th is more wide open.

Eiserman is an interesting prospect around that 8-12 or so pick range. They had him #2/3 before the season. Sounds like another Caufield type. I'm surprised he fell so far considering his goal scoring numbers are off the charts.

Helenius should not be top 10 IMO Why? Pronman, Wheeler and Mckenzie all have him at 9 or 10. Those are 3 pretty reliable resources, so it's not like Mckenzie went out on a crazy limb there and to be honest they most likely have seen him in person more than you. :-) On top of those 3, the consensus with draft reports is he is around 8-10. He is playing pro now and holding his own.

This could be the last top 10 pick for awhile so I don't want a 2 way mid lineup type guy at 5-6-7, swing for high offensive upside. Catton Eiserman maybe Iginla.

All lists are different....I've read one today on Sportsnet.ca that had Iginla at 5.....and I wouldn't mind them selecting him at #5 #6.
Eiserman is the best scorer in the draft.....but Iginla is an all around better 200ft player.
Can we see the Habs moving their later 1st rd pick in a package for perhaps a skilled fw.....?

He is coming to camp and will play in Sweden for a year if he doesn't crack the Habs
